  1. AAAAAAAnd coming down the last stretch LP and Strat are neck and neck with the Tele trailing behind and Drums bringing up the rear....going to be an exciting finish no doubt... Understand that this poll is only for entertainment purposes only and please remember, no wagering.
  2. If you want the 70's big headstock, I would just get a Highway 1. I had a MIJ 70's reissue though....that guitar sounded real nice-like. Or get a DiPinto Galaxie 4. Headstock could be used as a weapon also.
  3. Most of the modern RIs are better-made instruments than most of the originals.
  4. someone needs to make a strat/tele hybrid Reverend has it's take on it...kind of...:
  5. Between these three dinosaurs? Les Paul. Yeah, would rather have that gnarly, rad, cool, groovy axe your slingin' in your avatar! You're right, those are dinosaurs...I'd rather play something you young hipsters play because I'm sure it sounds totally different and so SO cool!.
  6. I got a MiM Strat...it's wonderful as far as I'm concerned. Though I mainly bought it for a mod foundation. So I changed a few things from the stock. Planet Waves locking tuners, put on a bone nut, blocked the trem, totally replaced the pick-ups and all the electronics with a pre-assembled pickguard...wasn't totally expensive but all told I got a guitar that blows away a stock American Strat (for me at least) for about $650 bucks. Sure, wouldn't get that in a resale, but I don't resell my gear.
  7. While I don't like Rolling Stone magazine nor "lists" of any kind, I did find it funny they put EVH at #75 or something of the greatest guitarists of all time. Just thought that was cute.
  8. Great guitarist...just has a huge ego that I don't care for. I prefer my heroes to be humble. But hey, some people like him for his huge ego. Just wish he had done more in his career. In my opinion, he came out of the gate running with the first two albums...then just stagnated. Then turned Adult Contemporary. I mean, my mom was singing a Van Hagar song in her 70's because it was being played on her old-folks radio station. I'm totally serious. Not that there's really anything wrong with that I guess....just was weird to see.
  9. Didn't read every post...me being the lazy asshole that I am. But with everyone asking how he got this gun and how he was banned from getting this gun and if anyone illegally obtained this gun and gave it to him Could it be, I don't know...that he stole the gun? I mean, he IS a criminal, yes? Also, banning guns isn't really the answer to anything. Let's say, for instance, that a fairy god-mother came down and eradicated every gun, everywhere on the planet. No military or civilian guns anywhere. She also takes out the gun factories or wherever their legally made today. I would give it about a month or so before we start seeing guns on the streets again because let's face it, a gun is a pretty simple object for a good machinist to make. Using even the simple designs of a hundred years ago, you could make some pretty good weapons. The M1911 .45 ACP has plans all OVER the place on it's parts...and it's really a simplistic design. These aren't super secret plans on how to make them you know. Plus, it would probably turn into a very lucrative business for the "bad guys".
  10. My journey through the old jazz greats has landed on Mingus. Just bought "Pithecanthropus Erectus" and "Ah Um" from Amazon. I'm really digging it.

You can't just stop instantly...but gauge it back little by little. You're taking small doses so it shouldn't be a problem.
  12. How about this...train to become a piano tech? How does one do that btw?
  13. For the Pink Floyd gear and what was used by Richard Wright on the various albums, refer to this PDF file. It's pretty interesting.
  14. that is the stairway to heaven riff for bass players at guitar center +1000 That's all I hear. And I get funny looks when I'm testing basses when I just do scales or just noodle around as if "man, don't you know how to play bass?"
  15. The last Pink Floyd album was "The Wall". The other stuff that came out after it were just solo albums, in my humble opinion that is. Though some of those songs on the post-Wall era were kinda catchy. But to me, the Pink Floyd were always Waters lyrics, Gilmour's vocals and guitar, Wright's beautiful arrangements and Mason's driving beat. The term "together we stand, divided we fall" comes to mind. The Pink Floyd were always greater than the sum of their individual parts.
  16. Of course, if Oldivor has any balls, after the two year ban is over, the first thing he should post is another picture that will get him banned again. I'm just saying...
  17. Today it will be: Tommorow it will be:
