LOL, is this a parody? Bass-based music (drum and bass, funk, reggae, dub, and other styles) is among the most popular genres. And in many styles of electronica, bass is kind, and they even go wild for sub-bass (and octave lower still). Maybe white boys from the suburbs listening to Bon Jovi or whatever don't appreciate bass, but it very much is something people like and feel...
That doesn't mean meandering bass the style of Wooten is enjoyed by many. But people go crazy for a good bassline, from Superfreak and Another One Bites the Dust to Parliament and Funkadelic, all the way to Techo and House.
