Hi, all —
I recently found my Korg X5DR in the basement after looking for years to find it. The big problem is that I'd previously lent it out, and it had come back without its power supply. The borrower has yet to locate that, so I have to give it up as lost.
The back of the unit seems to indicate 12-Volt DV with a tip-negative polarity. Fine. I've dug up a number of 12VDC power supplies, but they are all tip-positive... seems to me, that's a recipe to blow out the whole device — flipping the polarity like that.
Can anyone confirm that this isn't simply a misprint on the back of the unit? I can't believe I haven't found a single tip-negative power supply in a world where such things actually exist. When I look online for replacement power supplies, they all seem to show tip-positive polarity, which — in my mind — gives more credibility to the idea that the unit is simply mis-labeled (stranger things have happened). I can't get my hands on a service manual, either and I don't care to drop $20 on a PDF of one, either, since I'm not really a repair guy and only want to see what the book says about polarity on the power port.
So the other question would be, does anyone have a recommendation for a reliable source to buy a new (or NOS) genuine replacement wall wart for this guy? I'd love to tinker around with it again.
Thanks in advance.
