radar love,don't know where you got your misinformation.jimmy did die in hospital but it was a psychiatric hospital.he did have a very mild stroke years before he died,but he suffered from dementia ,probably due to his huge appetite for alcohol and cocaine.there is absolutely no way that in a ward of 30 patients,all with long term psychiatric problems ,and only 4 staff that he would have a nurse present 24/7. he retained his sense of humour and mischievesness right to the end along with his love of ray charles.don't know where such a wee man got that huge voice .toss up between him and paul rogers for britains best voice.
