  1. Good day,,, WHEW,, here's the sole tone control on my homebrew BOGEN DP16, 2-6sl7's feeding 6V6's & a recto... Dah bomb!! & I own many,, but while looking at this network, it's a low pass control that introduces high end as you go clockwise. The amp's a bit heavy on the low end, & could use a wee bit if high end extension. For argument sake & grabbing no factual numbers, let's say the amp is putting out 50hz to 4khz, how would one nudge the response closer to 70hz to 6khz? Caps & resistors... Isn't it 'all' there is to this? What to try in baby steps?? Thnx folks, kenny πŸ•‰
  2. Greetings,, I'm a player, a builder & fixer, & can tackle most sorts of electronic scenarios, but (sign), in honour of my dearly departed 1st love, a redhead, I'm thinking of having this guitar body satin-finished in orange,,, OR, if it's possible, perhaps to stain it with that colour, if it even exists..... As it sits now, the previous owner had attempted some kind of satiny finish, but it's not a great job, & a little blotchy in places... Not to open up 'that' can of worms about how finishes do, or do not, affect sound, and/or how the wood breathes, I have no clue or proof, but first; Your thoughts on stripping it (& the best way), & finding a true hue of orange that may or may not darken up too much due to the body's grain,,, or simply find someone to do a simple flat matte-satin orange,,,? It's my new favourite guitar that has seen more pickguard changes than string changes.... I need to do something~ thnx folksΰ₯πŸ’ƒπŸͺ•πŸͺ•
  3. Hiya,, I was told by a chatmate that you perhaps have an empty THD Combo cabinet for sale? Either way, kindly contact me at kslewitt@gmail.com

    Many thanks, kenny ΰ₯

  4. Greetings,, for shipping a very well packed 30lb amp head, with of these 3 ground services are likely to be the least expensive? Thanks all.
  5. Greetings~ Could you by any chance steer me towards a 4-way schematic 3-SC Strat scheme to yield me 1 thru 4: Bridge, Brdg & Mid, Brdg & Neck, then solo Neck..? & I want to avoid any push/pull or Blender,,, Just a straight up 1 Vol, 1 Tone & the above 4way sounds.. thnx!!"
  6. Hiya, for any folks familiar with this Fulltone unit, with the volume control, does that control to amount of overall effect w/o altering the volume of the incoming guitar signal? Thnx, Kenny
  7. Greetings,,, It would be for either the UniValve or BiValve chassis, & looks like this..... OR, if anyone might be able to build one..... Thnx
  8. Greetings~ So, between the Celestion G10 Greenback, & the Red Fang 10",, either one in an open back cab designed for a 12", & with an 'on the edge of breakup' 2x6V6 amp, and a Dumblesque boost of sorts....? It wouldn't so much as a primary stage amp, but prob more of my own personal on-stage monitor for feedback & stuff....? Thnx
  9. Greetings,, Having just completed a conversion of a very old Bell & Howell projector amp, it's proved to be cabinet worthy & wasn't sure what size speaker/cab i wanted... It's one of my many modded p.a. Amps, & it's the be(a)st overall, that when dimed, it's got the perfect just past the edge of breakup... If it wasn't loud enuff to hold it's own on a stage, I'd use it as my personal monitor, at my feet.. I'm a diehard lover of 12's, & in the past, I've owned a few killer sounding 10" combos; BF Vibro Champ, an AC10 Twin, a Brown Princeton & some oddball Premiers,,, SO, I also love the way a 10" hits you in the chest, but it's been a while & I can't recall if a 10" lends itself to a chunkier, seemingly earlier breakup? It's going to be an open back combo, & wanted to hear some affirmations from ya'll.. thnx in advance!!

    Step-Up Tranny Needed

Greetings~ I'm going to need a setp-up transformer for my THD BiValve 30w. Though i intend to perform the necessary wiring as per Andy @ THD, I'll want something to cover me for immediate use. How do i assess precisely what safe rating to get, & from where?Thnx in advance (see pic)ΰ₯
  11. Greetings,, does anyone out there have a possible lead on a 'Stereo' Seraphim by Neunaber, in any working condition? Thnx in advance, Kenny πŸ•‰

    Primo 12AX7 Choices??

Greetings ~ ok, w/o me needing a 2nd mortgage, for the 1st input of my McIntosh MC30, what might be the most robust, quiet & reliable tubes out there? I have tons of all kinds for my amps, but this one needs to be special.... I don't care to go down that NOS road for a hundred or so bucks, but what's in the next tier down from 'there'? Good listening ya'll 🎢 πŸ•‰πŸŽ΅
  14. Greetings,, w/o going nuts with a K&M for 200+, or buying a $35 piece of crap from people with awful feedback, what's nice & secure?? A nice wooden one would work, folding not important,,, but no flimsy crapola... Thnx all
  15. Hmmm, definitely worth reconsidering,,, Now that I look closer at that Tone pot,,, that's an '8', & not a 'B',,, So both are audio pots I take it? Thnx again ΰ₯πŸ’ƒπŸ•‰πŸŽΆ
  16. Thnx guys,,, yeah, I've no experience whatsoever on pcb's & no desire.... I'll have my guy check it out, BUT my true inquiry relates to the tapers, or lack of, & the schematic seems to allude to the Tone pot being linear 'B'?? Volume pot is 'A' for audio....
  18. Greetings again,, I seem to have misplaced all my notes, but I need to tweak or replace both the Vol and Tone pots... I don't want to alter their 'range' as much as I need to fix the tape. The majority of the sweep on the VOLUME control lives between 1 and 3, & I want to more smoothly level out the gain between 0 & 10... Similarly, the bulk of the high end on the Tone control lives between 8 & 10, and here again, I'd like a better & more gradual Tone sweep across the 0 to 10... My previous attempt at rectifying this led to both suggestions going from a Linear pot to an Audio, as well as to go from Audio to Linear on both pots, & perhaps to clip the Tone Cap.... So, now I'm confused as to what's in there now, & what to change to... I don't have the schematic & I'd finally like to tackle this. Kindly set this straight & rell me what & where to buy the necessary parts. To replace the cheapo input jack, do I require a shunting type or what? As some of you might already know us that these amps are near impossible to get inside of, & I have zippo experience with printed boards, so it's off to my guy I go... Many thanks in advance πŸ•‰πŸŽΆπŸŽΈ
  19. Greetings,,, Always wanted one, but was never a priority, nor is it pressing right now, but which of his pedals is the sweetest, buzz free models,, & not necessarily the most rare, but that kinda 'dirty is fun to know too... There's one w/3, 4, or 5 controls, & I want 'that' violin sound, or something close. Thank in advance, πŸ•‰πŸŽΈπŸ¦§
  20. Hiya,,,, The concensus to my previous Dumblesque-type pedal search points to the Barber... There seems to be a few different Burn Unit models on the market... Can someone kindly narrow it down to the likely candidate with a picture? Thnx again!!

    Is This Correct??

Nothing more,,, anyone in the know?? Is that blue 'X' the place I need to insert a cut switch Thnx
  22. Now, what is this cotton candy supposed to do for the sound? The cab in an older ADA vertical 2x12 slant style....Thnx πŸ•‰
  23. ksl

    Is This Correct??

Why not? Having 2 small heads, each powering one of the 12"s? I wouldn't be tying the amps together, just feeding different speakers.... This much is true... πŸ•‰πŸŽΈ
  24. ksl

    Is This Correct??

GREAT,,, That's what I'm looking for,,, 'that' switching or jack.... I could also simply be done with it & drill for a tiny toggle inserted between that single connection in between the speakers? Thnx again πŸŽΈπŸŽΈπŸ•‰ Sorry to 'bother' you, Grumpy
  25. ksl

    Is This Correct??

Greetings,,, From the drawing I've attached, is this right so I'll have 2 mono ins (for independent amps), and the series option will be isolated from the other stuff? Thnx πŸ•‰πŸŽΈ
