Thanks for 12 vs. 16 bit info: I use all the above mediums for listening. Each has a distinct sound. I don't prefer one over the other. Although I still wish my truck had an old built in cassette player. Each seems to have it's drawbacks and advantages, as you pointed out. As I age (65) it's harder to pick up all the frequencies. I have found that the speakers I use have the greatest effect on my ear drums.
