Engl brings five of its iconic Pro guitar cabinets to the Two notes Store with a new IR pack Engl is delighted to announce that its legendary Pro line of cabinets is now available as an official Impulse Response (IR) pack on the Two notes Store. CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES 50K DONATION FOR STORM RELIEF NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Convention Center Authority announced a donation of $50,000 this morning to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee fund on behalf of the Music City Center staff. “The devastation from the tornado impacted many people and businesses in our community, including some from our team,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of Music City Center. “On behalf of our team, we are making a donation as we stand together with our community.” The CCA also approved the 2021 fiscal year budget to fund the Music City Center’s operations and capital improvement projects. Additionally, MCC achieved 31.97% percent DBE participation in the second quarter of fiscal year 2020, spending $623,465 with minority, women-owned, small, and service-disabled veteran businesses. MCC’s contractors spent a combined $442,187 with DBE firms. MCC hosted 16 events with 47,535 attendees, generating 16,368 total room nights with a direct economic impact of $21,856,628 in January. SXSW MIDI 2.0 for Musicians Presentation By Brett Porter of Art and Logic MIDI 2.0 Specifications Available For Download – Complete specifications for the much-anticipated update to MIDI 1.0 are now available to the public – MIDI 2.0 enhances virtually all aspects of the original MIDI 1.0 spec, which revolutionized the world of technology and the arts when it was introduced in 1983. Unlike the original spec, which consisted of a transmitter talking to a receiver, the new specification now enables two-way communication between MIDI devices. This allows for features like automatic setup, based on one device querying another, obtaining a response, and configuring itself. This also ensures backward compatibility. If a MIDI 2.0 device can’t carry on a two-way conversation, it recognizes that it’s talking to a MIDI 1.0 device, and adjusts its communications accordingly. Aside from improving ease of use and workflow, MIDI 2.0 delivers more nuanced expressiveness for electronic instruments. It’s now possible to convey the same kind of subtle expression normally associated with acoustic instruments, thanks to higher-resolution dynamics and control data, vastly extended controller options (including per-note controllers for exceptional articulation), and simplified controller assignments.
