  1. Compact, economical, and ready to roll at a moment’s notice, the Nissan/Gibson-branded NV200—outfitted to create a guitar tech’s dream, with a built-in mobile repair and restoration shop—will be on display at the Gibson Booth (#1526) during the Summer NAMM show, held at the new Music City Center from July 11 to July 13. The final show day will be open to the general public. According to Gibson Brands Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, “We thought it was only fitting for the NV200 to make its official Nashville debut at Summer NAMM—especially because the light cargo van’s small footprint makes it ideal for maneuvering in tight places such as urban music venues, crowded outdoor concerts, and convention halls where space is at a premium.” Featuring excellent fuel economy and a 131-horsepower 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, the NV200 has the roadworthy appeal of a vehicle that can log as many miles as the typical touring band—and the 53-inch cargo height, combined with a 122.7 cubic feet cargo bay, compares to many standard roof full-size vans. But the NV200’s heart is a pullout bench that features an array of luthier’s tools; the bench can either extend to the lip of the NV200 to work on instruments, or detach to an indoor location. As a final touch, the cockpit has been customized with wood veneers in the dashboard that evoke classic Gibson materials such as mahogany and flamed maple, and the vehicle’s custom audio system is provided by Onkyo, part of the Gibson Brands family. “Our partnership with Gibson on the NV200 is a perfect example of what can be done with this versatile vehicle,” said John Brancheau, vice president of Marketing, Nissan North America. “It’s a cost-effective solution for any size business, from global firms like Gibson Brands to entrepreneurs and dreamers.”
  2. In 1934, Gibson built its first Jumbo round-shoulder, in response to changing trends and the technology of the time. The 1934 catalog described the Jumbo as having “a heavy, booming tone…a bass that will amaze you and a clear, brilliant treble in perfect balance.” This year’s new 1934 Original Jumbo is a replica inspired by one found in vintage Gibson expert Gary Burnett’s collection. Earlier this year Burnett made his rare 1934 Jumbo, serial number 507A, available to us to measure, photograph, analyze, and play. Strumming this 80-year-old classic produced Gibson’s characteristic, warm tone. But there was also a woody, sweet midrange timbre that captures the special behavior of these 1930s Gibson legends—so Gibson’s production team got to work on an exhaustive effort to capture every nuance of this classic guitar’s deep, inviting sound. From the red spruce top (sanded to a thinner dimension to match the original), to the heavy, period-correct V profile neck with historic string spacing on the neck and bridge, to the radiant sunburst finish with a classic pear-shaped center that tapers perfectly into a dark, rich deep umber brown edge, the 1934 Original Jumbo is a triumph both of elegance and historical accuracy that captures the dignified—yet enchanting—magic of the first jumbo acoustic. The 1934 Original Jumbo is a true hand-made, American legend, and limited to a run of 100 guitars.
  3. The transformation from Gibson Guitars to Gibson Brands reflects the company’s comprehensive lineup of premium products that now covers the entire music and sound signal chain—from the musician’s hands to the listener’s heart. A major highlight at the Summer NAMM show (held from July 11-13 at Nashville’s new Music City Center) is the gorgeous new 1934 Original Jumbo acoustic guitar, which combines Gibson’s excellence in acoustic guitar manufacturing with the attention to detail that reproduces every nuance of this classic musical instrument. Painstakingly researched and crafted to insure complete accuracy, this limited-run guitar—only 100 will ever be made—is a triumph of both elegance and historical precision that captures the dignified, yet enchanting, magic of the first jumbo acoustic. Gibson will also showcase Gibson Pure instrument cables, which re-invent the cable by essentially eliminating handling noise, even with high-gain setups—while providing the ideal electrical match for pickups, noise-free plugging/unplugging, unprecedented suppleness, and a lifetime warranty. Experience additional innovations at the Gibson Brands booth (#1526), including Cerwin-Vega!’s powerhouse P-Series powered speakers, Stanton’s “mil-spec” STR8.150 turntable, KRK’s Rockit 2 series monitors, Onkyo’s room-filling iLunar stereo system, TASCAM’s best-selling DR-40 digital recorder, and more. Then enter the “Gibson Brands—Stay Tuned!” giveaway, and you may win the grand prize: an SG with Min-ETune™ “robot” tuning. There’s even a version of the popular “Beat the Robot” contest that debuted at the Frankfurt Musikmesse, along with six free workshops (repeated daily), that provide lessons from expert luthiers and techs on guitar setup and repair techniques—all hosted from the photo op-friendly Nissan/Gibson-branded NV200 repair van, which was a major hit at the 2013 New York Auto Show. “We wanted to give showgoers something to talk about,” states Gibson Brands Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz. “This has been in incredibly exciting and positive year for Gibson, and we’re bringing that spirit to Summer NAMM. Others can supply the doom and gloom—we’ll bring the magic. Join us.”
  4. CEC Amplification is set to launch its brand new "Road Dog" combo amplifier at Summer NAMM this week. The Road Dog, a 100 watt powerhouse designed with an emphasis on practicality and utility for working musicians, is the first ever signature amplifier developed for Nashville guitarist and Shrapnel recording artist Johnny Hiland. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gX75kSCeLIk?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> "Johnny is very discriminating when it comes to gear; very particular about the fine details," says Craig Wildenradt, founder of CEC Amplification. "We set out to create an amplifier for him that would not only have his ideal feature set, but would also in its rawest form deliver all the tone and feel that his hands demand each time he plugs in." Staying true to the commonalities of CEC design philosophy, the Road Dog sports an original circuit design and an uncommon tube lineup. Primary specifications of the Road Dog include: 100 watt 2x12 combo, with all tube preamp and power amp Tube complement: 4x 6L6GC-STR, 3x 12AX7, 1x 12AU7, 1x EF86 Three built-in reverbs Switchable effects loop with level control Buffered line out Loaded with Celestion speakers Accepts extension cabs Made in the USA
  5. MEGA Grip! These wrappings are hand ground on a bench grinder. Not lasered. Each pick is unique and no two V-Pick Mummys will be the same. Very deep carve. Almost feels like it is biting into your finger, but without the pain! Huge tone. Huge attitude.
  6. Reverend Guitars is always updating their models, to include the latest in select innovations, and the maximum performance possible. Sometimes, inspiration for the latest models comes directly from guitarists. In the spring, Reverend Guitars quietly launched the Warhawk III and the Six-Gun III. The Warhawk III features new body-bevels and a six-in-line headstock for greater playability. The Six-Gun III has a sleeker body than the original, as well as an all-in-one pickguard assembly for both greater stability and an easier control layout. When Gil Parris saw the Six-Gun III, he fell in love with the new improvements. Gil and Joe Naylor worked together to create the Reverend Gil Parris Signature II. This new version is on the Six-Gun III platform, but features the Gil Parris Signature Humbucker-Single coil-Humbucker pickup configuration – all with Reverend-made pickups. Available in Metallic Lakeside Gold, with a black pickguard and maple neck, this newest arrangement is the perfect guitar for Gil’s particular brand of Jazz-meets-Blues-meets-Rock. King Paris, the East-Meets-West star, loves the Reverend Rick Vito Signature Model, but felt the retro greens and blues clashed with his outfits. He was looking for the same model, but in a gold or red to match his show. Rick Vito agreed. Reverend Guitars added the Metallic Lakeside Gold and Metallic Red, and everyone thinks they look great! Of course, the new colors still have all the same specs as the originals: the Dual-Pro bridge pickup (a hot single coil based on a mid-1960′s Supro pickup fit into a standard size Humbucker cover), ebony fretboard, stair-step tuner buttons, pickup pan knob, and included two-tone tapered case. Popular demand among guitarists is another way Reverend gets inspiration. When the Reverend Pete Anderson Signature PA-1 came out, many guitarists asked for the model with Revtrons for even more twang. Reverend Guitars listened, and added some hot, vintage colors to create the Reverend Pete Anderson Signature PA-1 RT! The guitar also has all of the same innovations from the PA-1: the Uni-Brace, which addresses feedback, enhances sustain, and increases clarity; the bushing mounted bridge; “R” embossed knobs, back sprayed/logoed pickguard, and 15th fret neck/body joint for better high fret access. The Reverend Pete Anderson Signature PA-1 RT comes in Satin Red Burst, Satin Rock Orange, and Satin Metallic Emerald, all with Rosewood fretboards. While there aren’t many lefty guitar players, they all seem to want a Reverend Guitar. Reverend tries to accommodate them by doing a model or two in a left-handed configuration each year. This year, Reverend has decided to release the Jetstream 390 in Rock Orange and the Buckshot in Chronic Blue. “We try to do each model in a lefty, at least once. Last year, we did the Sensei RT. This year, we decided to do something on the other end of the spectrum,” says Ken Haas, Reverend Guitars General Manager. All Reverends have pin-lock tuners and a graphite nut work together to create more stability and to help every Reverend to stay in tune. The exclusive Reverend Bass Contour, a variable bass roll-off that adjusts the pickup voicing, gives every Reverend a range of tones to work with. “It’s influenced by the classics. The look is very important – you wear it – but it’s also a musician’s tool, and everything has to work. Everything continues to evolve for Reverend, and that’s part of our philosophy. The last Reverend is the best Reverend.” – Joe Naylor, Founder of Reverend Guitars.
  7. Fuchs Audio Technology‘s Plush FX Pedal Division is proud to announce the “Cerberus” pedal, a Tri-Mode overdrive pedal that was designed by Andy Fuchs exclusively for Guitar Center. The “Cerberus” features premium internal components, which are selected for low noise and superior tone. The pedal’s “true bypass” includes one 9-volt battery and can be powered externally by any standard 9-V adaptor with a 2.1 MM plug and center negative (Visual Sound One-Spot, Godlyke Power All, etc). The Cerberus Tri-Mode overdrive provides three distinctive overdrive gain and clipping modes, as well as allowing you to carefully adjust both the input and output gain to perfectly tailor your pedal to your own unique personal sound. The green mode is a High gain rock mode an “English Style” plexi-voice with sparkle, edge and grit. The “blue mode” is a medium gain blues mode in the “D Style” with a mid-driven smooth overdrive and highly touch sensitive. The “red mode” is a low gain rock mode “American style” rock mode with more midrange drive than English mode and smoother clipping when driven hard. It sounds more like a tube rectified style sagging vintage American amp. The exterior finish is a hard guitar grade polyurethane finish, which is silk screened and then baked to lock on the labeling and harden the clear coat. MAP: 179.00

  10. BlackBox manufacturer JoeCo announces the release of JoeCoRemote for iPad. The new software app, together with a specially developed hardware interface, enables remote control of both 24-channel and 64-channel BlackBox Recorders and BlackBox Players via iPad. An intuitive interface allows all transport functions (Play, Stop, Record) to be remotely controlled from the iPad, as well as providing access to the BlackBox menu structure for changing settings. JoeCoRemote also provides an accurate metering overview for the BlackBox Recorder. In addition, the app can be used for remotely controlling and editing BlackBox Player playlists. Playlists that are stored on the Player’s external hard disk or Flash drive can be viewed and edited on the iPad interface as required, offering a useful alternative for remote editing of show content. The iPad interface also provides a further option for triggering playlists during shows, theatre performances and themed entertainment. JoeCoRemote has been primarily developed to work wirelessly via its hardware interface. For venues where multiple competing WiFi signals can create congestion, a cable is also supplied with the interface for alternative wired connectivity. “Developing the JoeCoRemote software and hardware interface has been a significant project and we are delighted that the package is now available for our users” says JoeCo’s Joe Bull. “While developing the software and hardware has presented the usual challenges, the real challenge has been to design a system that can be quickly set up for use by busy engineers, artists and musical directors for a number of different applications, without requiring detailed knowledge of networking technology. We have therefore tried to find solutions for connectivity that give increased flexibility, while maintaining the ease of use with which our BlackBox systems have become associated.”

  12. Stik Worldwide Group, LLC, recently launched its guitar pick gripping aid line with the focus on the flagship product, Stik n' Pik. The pick grip is presented in a convenient, easy-to-apply tube similar to that of a lip balm or glue stick and virtually eliminates guitar pick slippage and dropping. Despite the claims of other products of this nature, Stik n' Pik is the first of its kind which truly lives up to its promise to provide superior pick control without messy after-effects: - The formula is all natural and is odorless; - it can be applied to fingertips or the pick itself; - it is equally effective in wet (perspiration) or dry (high heat, aging skin) situations; - it leaves no oily or sticky residue on hands, instruments, sheet music or clothing. Test marketing to performers, educators and students resulted in an overwhelmingly positive response and gave Stik n' Pik equally high points for its use on stage by professionals and as a practice aid for young beginners. Early response from industry pros provides powerful testimony to the effectiveness of Stik n' Pik: “I’ve tried the rest – this one’s the best. I’m using it for my fingerpicks, too! I reached a point where I was squeezing the picks so tight to keep them on that it became painful and distracting. With Stik n’ Pik, I can slide them on with comfortable tension and they stay right where they’re supposed to. Travis pickers, banjo pickers, dobro and steel guitar players should all try this product for their finger picks.” - Ken Lyon, Folk-Blues singer/songwriter/guitarist, Columbia recording artist “Very handy - especially for quick pick-up during punch-ins, and no worries about a mess on the knobs and faders.” - Peter Anders, composer/producer/performer, The Tradewinds, The Videls, Phil Spector, The Ronettes The company has also released it's first accessory, Stik n' Clip, an easy to install, easy-to-use mic stand tube holder for convenient, hands-free application of Stik n' Pik.

The duo is well known for their collaboration efforts with Casio America, Inc. and their highly sought after Casio G-Shock collections. Only two units of the Limited Edition XW-G1 synthesizer were created, which feature the designer duo’s unique Lego® block design and neon leopard print patterns. “Casio is proud to announce the XW-G1 synthesizer collaboration with Dee & Ricky Jackson, said Stephen Schmidt, vice president of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instruments Division. “Dee & Ricky are extremely talented designers and we have been thrilled with the designs they have created for Casio’s G-Shock collections in the past. We are excited to provide some lucky consumers with a unique version of the widely popular XW-G1 synthesizer. Twin brothers Dee & Ricky Jackson are two extremely talented designers who come from Staten Island, NY. The pair has a heavy list of celebrity co-signs and has now ventured into the Electronic Musical Instruments world with Casio on the limited edition customized XW-G1 synthesizer. All of the details within the XW-G1 synthesizer were enhanced with the duo’s style. “We are thrilled with the end result of the synthesizer. We hope some very deserving musicians win the ‘two of a kind’ units from Casio and enjoy the unique Lego® block design and neon leopard print patterns,” said designer, Dee Jackson. Equipped with 61 keys and Casio’s exclusive (HPSS) Hybrid Processing Sound Source, the XW-G1 provides screaming virtual analog monophonic leads and basses, drawbar organs, complex layers, stereo pianos, drums and more to produce the sounds and real-time control any performing musician needs. A six oscillator monophonic solo synth is just one of the amazing sound engines in the XW-G1. Two virtual analog style oscillators, two PCM based oscillators, a noise oscillator and an external oscillator via mic and line inputs can be combined to make up a single solo synth tone. Each oscillator has an independent filter, envelopes, independent key tracking, portamento, two LFO’s and access to master resonant filter. Furthermore, the XW-G1 has four real-time controller knobs, pitch bend and modulation wheels, along with nine sliders to provide control over internal sounds and external devices. Through standard MIDI ports and with a class-compliant USB port the keyboard can be used as a controller for other instruments, including computer software and iPad® based software applications. It also includes an audio input allowing you to monitor an MP3 player, computer or other device without the need for a mixer. Beginning Tuesday, June 25th, Casio will be hosting a contest on their Facebook page (https://facebook.com/CasioMusicGear) giving music lovers and fans of Dee & Ricky Jackson the chance to win limited edition XW-G1 units. The contest will run through August and two units will be given away.
  14. The winters in Scandinavia are dark, just like the metal that comes out of that part of the world. And sometimes, in capturing a tone suitable for such blackness, guitarists need something with even more grime and aggression; the right balance of mids, treble and bass to instantly go from annihilating riffs to articulately cutting solos. Three ceramic magnets and a special wind produce a distortion that is crushing with aggressive saturation in the mids and high-end. Black Winter was initially developed for the extreme metal players of Scandinavia and made available in January of this year. Due to an upswell of calls for its full release, you'll now be able to get Black Winter at your local music store or favorite online dealer. Black Winter's look matches its dark intentions: a black bottom plate, black pole pieces and screws, red wire, and the Seymour Duncan logo in Old English font. Available for 6-string guitars, you'll be able to get Black Winter in either a bridge or neck version or as a complete calibrated set. For those whose guitar has a tremolo, you'll also be able to get Black Winter in a Trembucker version for maximum balance.
  15. The Kemper Profiler has taken the guitarists’ world by storm and rocks the world this summer on major festival stages. To mention just a few: UK’s best known alternative trio Biffy Clyro played Rock am Ring and the biggest venues in the UK. Muse have toured the biggest arenas in the world just like many others as well. Numerous records were and are produced with the Kemper Profiler. Right now Depeche Mode's Martin Gore plays two Kemper Profiler Racks during their Delta Machine arena tour: Guitarists quickly learned to love the Profiler because of its authentic sound, now moving on with the brand new Firmware Version 2.0 the focus this time shifts towards effects and usability. The Kemper Company mothership looks already back on a 15 year legacy with the Access VIRUS, one of the most popular and comprehensive synthesizers on the market, acclaimed for its sound and incredible effects. This expertise is now transferred step by step to the Profiler by offering worldclass effects especially designed for performing guitar players. Shifting Pitches A collection of new polyphonic Pitch Shifting FX now extends the creative potential of the Profiler. Easily on par with the industry standard in terms of sound quality the Profiler in some areas even goes beyond what has been offered by even the most expensive pitch shifter devices on the market. With no compromise. For the first time a real time formant shifter for guitar is available in order to shape the character of the guitar and compensate for that unwanted „chipmunk effect“ when pitch shifting guitar sounds. „Pure Tuning“ or „just“ tuning finally is an option that tunes the intervals in the „pure“ or „just“ manner. This results in great and smooth sounding chords created with the pitch shifter which have never been possible before. Listen and Learn Additionally a lot for requests from the players of the Kemper Profiler have been implemented as new features which most likely will become a new standard. For example: When the Volume Control Pedal is put down to zero automatically the Tuner Mode is activated. Performance mode Performance mode is a powerful tool that allows for organising rigs in ‘performances’. A total of 125 performances are available, each of which can hold up to five rigs in one logical place. The typical use of a performance would be storing the sounds dedicated to the intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and outro of a song, and switch between them using a foot controller. Custom foot controller support Kemper have been working with companies offering custom foot controllers or chip tunings for universal foot controllers in order to give choices to the Kemper Profiler users. Watch out for offerings from FAMC Liquid Foot, UnO 4 Kemper, and others. Rig-a-lo-mania – A brand new set of Presets A completely new The Amp Factory Rig Pack as well as pitch shifter rigs and presets have been added. Rig Pack 04 and Keith Merrow Signature Rigs are now included in firmware 2.0. 16. Giving you all the right moves, Blue Microphones (www.bluemic.com) and PreSonus (www.presonus.com) have partnered to bring you the Two to Tango promotion, which combines Blue’s premium large-diaphragm, multi-pattern condenser Kiwi microphone with the ADL 700, PreSonus’ new, high-end tube-driven channel strip. Both top-of-the-line products are specifically paired to create a remarkable solution for the highest-quality tracking chain, from capture to processing. Together, the Kiwi and ADL 700 deliver superior sound, moving together in perfect harmony for only $3,499.99 at participating dealers during the Two to Tango promotion, which runs from July 1 to September 30, 2013. “The Kiwi and ADL 700 are a perfect match for premium recording, from capture through the entire processing chain. We are excited for the chance to offer customers such a high-end package at such a special price,” said Michael Huckler, VP of Sales for Blue Microphones. “With the incredibly rich sound of Kiwi’s B6 capsule, matched with the tube-driven sound of the ADL 700, it’s a great opportunity to come together with PreSonus to offer this pair to customers who want to achieve this premium sound.” The Kiwi is a large diaphragm, solid-state, multi-pattern condenser microphone that features Blue’s renowned B6 capsule. Kiwi delivers the detail of its sonic signature all at once, with extended top end and accentuated mids and bottom end, without being too forward. Designed to set the standard for solid-state microphones, the Kiwi yields lush vocals, stunning acoustic guitar, gorgeous piano sounds, and more from nine different polar patterns (omni, cardioid, figure-8, and everything in between). It’s a perfect match for the ADL 700. The ADL 700 channel strip combines a single-channel version of the two-channel, award-winning, high-end PreSonus ADL 600 Class A tube preamplifier with a fully variable, FET-based compressor and a four-band semi-parametric equalizer. This new channel strip provides separate balanced XLR mic, balanced XLR line, and a ¼” TS instrument inputs and a single, balanced XLR output. The dual-transformer design of the ADL 700 ensures low-noise operation, with maximum common-mode rejection. This results in an ultra-low-noise tube preamp with a big, warm, smooth, clear, distinctive sound. It’s the perfect partner for Kiwi.
  17. This new pedal delivers the distinctive qualities of a vari-mu studio compressor in a stomp box format. Opti-Mu Prime pushes the limits of natural sounding compression by employing a unique circuit designed by Lightning Boy Audio. A pair of 12AU7 tubes power Opti-Mu Prime. One tube drives the optically controlled vari-mu circuit, which constantly readjusts the plate voltage of the preamp tube, based on how loud the instrument is being played. The second serves as a preamp, and is the only tube in the audio path. This is the only pedal on the market that employs actual vacuum tubes to achieve the compression effect. There are some vacuum tube powered compressor pedals, but they are optical compressors, which use vacuum tubes simply for makeup gain. Many Mastering Engineers prefer to use vari-mu compression for it’s transparent and organic sound quality. As with all Lightning Boy gear, paper in oil caps are utilized for their ultra-transparent sound and smooth tone. Like all of our other builds, the Opti-Mu Prime is hand wired point to point with silver plated Teflon insulated wire. To prevent any unnecessary resistor noise, all Lightning Boy equipment is made with low noise Vishay/Dale metalized film resistors.

Audio Architect forms the third pillar of the new Architectural Media Systems installed sound solution, linking and combining processing and amplification from BSS Audio and Crown. HiQnet Audio Architect provides systems integration professionals with step-by-step application workflow from which a carefully-constructed modal interface is derived, embedding users’ workflows directly in the main application. With much of the development focus being on usability and user experience, it includes offline design tools specifically grouped for the system designer and online operation tools incorporated with the system, commissioning engineer in mind. Also included is an integrated Full Screen Mode designed for the day-to-day operator, making the right control panels and options available for each user, application and project. HiQnet Audio Architect automatically generates system control and monitoring interfaces that are instantly accessible regardless of the individual system hardware components. In doing so, it enables better workflows, encourages best practices and provides more efficient operation. HiQnet Audio Architect represents the sum of the functionality of System Architect and London Architect, merging HiQnet’s proven workflow-based user interface principles with open-architecture processor configuration. Commenting on its introduction, Adam Holladay, Market Manager, HARMAN Professional System Development and Integration Group (SDIG) noted, “With 1,500 downloads in the first week, the market response to Audio Architect version 1.0 has been nothing short of phenomenal and demonstrates the systems integration community’s appetite for the most advanced toolsets, efficient productivity tools and intuitive interfaces. Following on from the success of HiQnet System Architect, Audio Architect is testament to the quality of input and direction we have received from our customers in the field.” HiQnet Audio Architect features an intelligent venue navigation system which provides a context-sensitive tree view of the entire design, filtering out unnecessary information for each stage of the built-in workflow modes. In doing so, screen noise is significantly reduced, even for complex designs, as is the need for training since for each workflow step only the relevant tools are presented. It also provides the ability to go online to address not just the entire venue but also individual rooms, racks or even devices. This provides significant benefits in maintenance situations by eliminating the need to shut down an entire system while troubleshooting or upgrading hardware. Audio Architect is the most comprehensive software application for routing multiple digital audio networks. It features system-wide drag-and-drop routing and is designed to support the full ‘A, B, C, D’ range ofAVB, HARMAN BLU link, Cirrus Logic CobraNet® and Audinate Dante™ audio protocols to meet any and all the market’s networking demands. CobraNet compatibility assures legacy systems can continue to be supported and grown, AVB provides the path to an open standard networking future and lowers the barrier to entry for Ethernet-based media, and Dante enables complex audio routing in a managed Ethernet switch network. The BLU link bus complements all three Ethernet-based transports by providing a high channel count, low latency redundant ring connection between processors and amplifiers, simultaneously alleviating bandwidth from the Ethernet network and reducing switch port and switch count. Audio Architect enables configuration of open-architecture processors of the BSS Audio Soundweb London family in a new ‘Soundweb London world’. Enhancing the usability of London Architect equivalent features, Audio Architect includes a matrix control, improved GPIO configuration and improved Soundweb London preset configuration. It is also compatible with the new HiQnet Motion Control iOS app, enabling customized HiQnet control interfaces to be directly and wirelessly loaded onto iOS devices. HiQnet Audio Architect also features the capacity to launch HARMAN’s IDX-100 Designer software from a representation of an IDX server in the main system design, merging the management of HiQnet and IDX systems, and aligning the comprehensive IDX networked paging solution within the HiQnet system. As of the availability of Audio Architect, System Architect becomes legacy software. London Architect will continue a supported platform alongside Audio Architect while the full feature set is migrated over the forthcoming months.

  20. BearFoot FX has quickly made a name for itself by releasing a series of 'best in category' guitar effects, including a full range of overdrives, distortions and clean machines like compressors, EQs and boosters. Releasing 20 models in 30 months seems impossible, but BearFoot is unique in that most of these models are US built versions of pedals that already had a rabid cult following in BJFE models. All BearFoot pedals are designed by Swedish amp and effects guru Bjorn Juhl. In fact, the title BearFoot comes from the name Bjorn meaning “bear” in Swedish. Some of Bjorn's most beloved designs are his fuzzes. He initially took most of the fuzz sounds and divided them into two models; the useful daily fuzz tones from Jimi to Neil are in the Pink Purple Fuzz and the crazy chainsaw octave spitty bitey tones are in the Candy Apple Fuzz. The PPF will cover everything from very light dynamic fuzz drives to near muffish singing fuzztones. At least 3 more Fuzzes are planned for 2013. Some from BJFe existing designs and some brand new. BearFoot FX pedals are currently on tour with a wide range of artists from noise meisters Adrian Belew and Reeves Gabrels (the Cure) to Americana legends like Lucinda Williams (Doug Pettibone), Son Volt (Mark Spencer, Gary Hunt) and Jason and the Scorchers (Warner Hodges) with many more styles in between.
  21. Distilling the expertise gained through 30 years of triangle making, Grover Pro has created a new triangle, thed Bronze Hammered Lite model. Available in six sizes, Grover Pro BHL triangles are hand-shaped from a special 3/8-in diameter alloy. Founder and Boston Pops percussionist, Neil Grover states, "The proprietary alchemy of these highly resonant triangles is integral to the sonic properties and is a closely guarded secret." Each BHL triangle is hand-hammered in a randomized pattern, which enhances the production of primary and secondary harmonics. The tonal properties can best be described as resonant with a very wide array of audible harmonics. These instruments produce a lighter sonority than Grover's Bronze Pro Hammered series, yet they retain the distinctive and complex harmonic spectrum for which Grover hammered triangles are renowned. Available in sizes 4" - 9", Grover's Bronze Hammered Lite Triangle is ideal for professionals and percussionists who desire a triangle with a full overtone spectrum, yet lighter and more sensitive sound profile. All of Grover Pro's triangles comer with a free zippered Cordura bag. Made with pride in the USA.

  24. Ever since the mid-1950s, Rickenbacker basses have been establishing the musical bottom for rock, jazz, and funk. Rickenbacker’s iconic 4001 bass is just one of nearly 40 distinct models produced in the last six decades. Players and collectors have longed for a reference for the different models, features, finishes, and details. The Rickenbacker Electric Bass – 50 Years As Rock’s Bottom provides hundreds of color photos and descriptions, along with the history to sort out the legend from the lore. “I took a ‘field guide’ approach to the content, not just providing the history and photos. Each model is illustrated with an ‘identifying features’ page that uses close-up photos and callouts to point out ‘field marks’ of that particular Rickenbacker bass model,” says author and Rickenbacker aficionado Paul Boyer. nts. “There have been several books on Rickenbacker guitars,” Boyer explains, “and some of them include mentions of the basses. There are lots of books on electric basses, and some of them include mentions of Rickenbacker basses. But my book is the only one devoted only to Rickenbacker basses.” The Rickenbacker Electric Bass - 50 years as Rock’s Bottom traces the history of the iconic guitar, from its prototypes through its explosion of popularity in such bands as the Beatles, Yes, Deep Purple, and Motörhead. Lavishly illustrated with archival shots, this is a must-have book not only for anyone who plays the Rick but for all bass players and those interested in the instruments played by rock heroes of the 1960s through the present.
  25. As of October 2011 — when Avid introduced its advanced AAX (Avid Audio Xtension) plug-in format with Pro Tools 10 to offer better workflows and sound parity when sharing sessions between DSP-accelerated and DSP-based Pro Tools systems — Arturia software instrument users could still run RTAS versions of their precious plug-ins within Pro Tools 10. This is no longer the case with Pro Tools 11. With the introduction of Pro Tools 11 Avid has today turbocharged AAX with 64-bit performance but duly dropped RTAS support so users now have to update their plug-ins to include the new AAX format. In the wonderful world of Arturia software instruments, AAX Updater does just that... speedily and simply. Run AAX Updater once and... voila! All installed Arturia software instruments are at once updated, ready to run as 64-bit AAX plug-ins within Pro Tools 11. There are, however, some notable exceptions to this: the Analog Laboratory software synthesizer solution, Brass 2.0 virtual acoustic instrument, and SPARK engine software shared by both the SPARK Creative Drum Machine and SparkLE hybrid hardware/software beat production centres are not included in the list of instruments that will be updated by AAX Updater (though the forthcoming SPARK 1.7 update will be AAX-compatible). Since Pro Tools 11 only runs on Mac OS X 10.8, Windows 7, and Windows 8, so does AAX Updater. Quite simply, any Arturia user wishing to purchase Pro Tools 11 should run AAX Updater then they’re good to go and make sweet music again. Literally speaking, of course! AAX Updater can be downloaded for free from here: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/downloads/updates.html
