Hi Craig, You said that flute vocoding will give poor results - what about an electric violin or acoustic violin with a pickup? I am thinking about purchasing a MicroKORG and plugging in a violin or flute with a pickup, and using the vocoding feature of the synth to generate live performances between two performers. I have only begun to research of all of this, and your article is the first red flag to show up. I know very little about this stuff and want to make sure that I invest in something with potential to work. Is there a way to get good results with a flute or violin? The end goal is to compose a piece modeled after the violin/piano or flute/piano sonatas in classical literature, while discovering and creating new sounds which present themselves in this electronic field.
