From what I have read, the i88x is probably the best quality for the money of almost anything. However, I have also heard some horror stories about getting it to work. Lots of people love the firebox and firepod, but both of these are also out of your price range. You may want to consider getting a used unit, but this is slightly risky. yup. bingo. i have a us122. have not had the latency problem but i'm not triggering samples yet. just recording in. i got for under$150 so for that it is definitely worth it.
