  1. Not a problem, that's what Google is for.
  2. Radical concept here, but it's a …. wait for it.... wait for it.... TA-40B!!! Lots of detective work there. (whew!) Mid 90's 94-96, MIC (Made IN China) Generally thought to be a decent starter guitar.
  3. Eric, post a pic, that will help. Also the black neck plate and the NJ Neptune means nothing on the Kramers. Most of them, were ESP made body's and necks, and were set up in the states. The Neptune address was the corporate office, and NOT a factory.
  4. ok, what model? Arias ran the gamut from pure crap, to brilliance. It all depends on the model and the year.
  5. It's bottom feeder territory. Made from plywood, and crap pieces. I believe it was made in Korea after 87. Unless it's dirt cheap, avoid.
  6. I recently picked up this, a 3010SE, and I expected to change out a few things. So far, all I did was a typical 50's wiring, and this things sings! Ebony board, abalone markers, and the p[ickups REALLY surprised me after a bit of tweaking. One of the cool factors is that there is only a 1/16th inch veneer on it. Pure mahogany (ish) goodness!
  7. Soooo, just re-releases of past re-releases.... leave it to Fender.
  8. The same with Joe Jackson. He is, according to his website, still alive.
  9. Nice to see Mary Ford, who may have been one of the greatest rhythm players ever, but no clip of her playing. For shame.... Joan Jett.... really.... you couldn't find anyone other then her for number 1?
  10. Oh god, I couldn't do it and listen to the whole thing. It was.... well just like any bad Aerosmith tune from the 70's, 80's 90's, 00's.... name the decade, it was from then. The opening "chicka wa..." killed it for me.
  11. 1965 Gibson Es330, 67 or so Gibson Non Reverse Firebird w/P90s, 56? Supro Belmont in original mother of toilet seat pink with gold hardware, late 60's Danelectro Vincent Bell Coral Firefly, 2005 Carvin Holdsworth H2 Fatboy. Of everything listed, the Fatboy is the one I miss the most.
  12. Hey all, Here you go for a trade offer. I have a Duncan Custom Shop Iommi bridge pickup. It's a great pickup, but not me, if you know what I mean. So, anyone have a bridge Bill Lawrence XL500 in black they are willing to trade? Any takers?
  13. Well, the other day I had another Hatching day..... sigh. So to beat the blues, went down to my fav shop in central Florida with a few guitars in tow for possible trading. First off, he teased the hell out of me with showing me a real 56 Paul Custom, followed by a 62 Ric Capri, then a Ric from the 50's, with the original horseshoe pickup, and a tin back! Beautiful beasties, but would have cost me the price of a new car to walk out with. Then he pulled out a guitar that he had just gotten in, and asked my opinion on it, since he knows I know Japanese guitars as well as he knows American. As he pulled it out, that seagull from "Finding Nemo" landed on my shoulder and said "Mine. Mine." 1976/77 Aria Pro II PE-130. All original, nothing changed, but alas, no case. So into the negotiations we went. After much whining, complaining, gnashing of teeth, arm twisting, and other assorted tactics, we agreed on a price, and I became the incredibly proud owner of it. Problem is, the bridge pickup, an ORIGINAL Uncle Matt Superflux pat pending, to my ears, one of the most horrid sounding things on the planet. Think Bob Dylan, complete with harmonica, as the pickup. Ok, you got it and understand. Nasal, shrill, and a perfection of ick, all in white plastic housing. So I knew I was replacing it once home. So..... on the way home, stopped in a nother shop here in Daytona. Decent shop, sometimes having some really cool items. (Fell in love with a Gibson ES130. Nice, but a bit out of my price range.) And in the display case I spy a pickup. "What's that?" I queried. "A Dimebag from Duncan. Give me 50 for it." Some more gnashing of teeth followed, and for 35, it's mine. Problem is, it's NOT what he claimed it was. A few minutes searching on the web, and the model number, showed me it was a Duncan CUSTOM SHOP Tony Iommi!!!! About 135-150 used. Score!!!! So a few minutes with a soldering iron, and here she is, in all her glory! Enjoy. 14. Once again, pics will be a great help. Of the front of the headstock, back, open electronics cavity, front of guitar, and neck plate.
  15. NOT to get another guitar. I mean, even I know 73 is more then enough. Soooo..... A few days ago my wife and I were out kitty stuff shopping. I mean, Gibson DESERVES an 8 foot cat tree, right? After shopping, we ate, and if anyone here takes medications for cholesterol, you know the routine: eat, 10 minutes later, a bathroom visit. For you younger people, it will happen to you too, trust me. So we stop at a Burger King, with a Pawn shop next store. (My wife has had a renewed interest in pawning, since while in Vegas, she made a SERIOUS score on some Tanzanite jewelry. She paid 250, for a ring and pendant, that the jeweler here, offered her 1500 for the ring alone!) So I walk into the pawn shop a few minutes after her and all she does is smile, and points to...... This. A 2008 Hagstrom Swede Select! Needed some electrical work,. and had a crack in the neck. No biggie, those can be fixed simply enough. but what sold it to me, was the price. After a few minutes of haggling, I walked out the door with it, and a soft case, for 125!!!!!! This is NOT helping my addiction what-so-ever. 16. Hey all, Saw a post on the local CL, very similar to the one Deepend showed in SL. "Buy this Peavey bass, get a second bass free!" The price.... $120. Ok, I have owned Peavey basses in the past, and swore of off them like cheap tequila. Yeah, they work. Yeah, they get the job done, but you always wake up going, "WTF am I doing with this?" He said that the free bass needed a set up,. and that the volume pot was shot. So I offered the guy $40 for the "free" bass, and hot dang, he went for it! Neck thru, EMG pickup, (Which is why the volume pot was "shot". the battery was dead!) Brass bridge, Gotoh tuners, and a nice 24 fret board. The truss rod nut was stripped, which was a JOY to remove and replace, and the electronics looked to have been done by a monkey. The weird thing about it, which is why I kinda question it being a homemade instrument, is the body's curve. VERY reminiscent of either the Ibanez Ergodyne, or early Spector basses. Which is cool, it fits my expanding gut. (Don't get old children!) Anyone seen anything like this before? 17. Pass. you see those type of breaks all the time on the GFS website, and they knock off $100 for a $300 guitar. It's not worth the time and aggravation.
  18. The set neck ones do Hellion. Most of the set necks were made by Gushin Gen Gakki in the mid/late 70's. (Same company that built Fresher and some Grecos.) The bolt on's, made by various companies like Matsumuko, Terada, and some Fuji Gen Gakki.. Value for the bolt ons around the 250 mark.
  19. Nah, not grumpy, just tired of doing legwork for others. Personally I ask questions here, if I can't find it in my own research.
