  1. Uhhhhh.... it's been around for decades, and it's designed to do what it does. And it does it well. What's the problem?
  2. Calling @daddymack, calling @daddymack....
  3. Great job. NEVER seen a case like that before. Interesting, but kind of stupid. Like SO NOT the case I want to fly anywhere with.
  4. Sorry, not going to download pics, or an extension to view said pics. If using Windows, right click the pic file, select edit, select resize, go to pixels, and select 1800 as the bigger of the two numbers. Then you can attach the resized files for all to see.
  5. Yeah.... but does it neck dive? (As you can see, I've been spending WAY too much time at an SG forum.)
  6. You have a commercial for a product, yet you don't use the product in the commercial, other than some posers with it. I want to HEAR the thing dammit! I know it's a MIDI guitar. I like MIDI guitars and used the Casio DG20 (I think it was?) for years. But if you are showcasing a musical product how about... oh I don't know, letting the targeted market HEAR it?
  7. It REALLY depends on the tone I am shooting for. Classic 70's rock? Gotta have maple over mahogany. (Think Gibson.) 80's pop/shred? Need that basswood. (Ibanez all the way!) Do I need something on the brighter side, with loads of sustain? Maple is the way to go. Want something darker sounding? Mahogany, pure mahogany. (Think SG) Then there is the Hollow and semi hollow sound, and that's laminate maple. (335, 330, guilds, D'Angelico.... et al)
  8. Best I've played thru, easy ROLAND JC-120. The perfect amp for clean. Yes, the amps gain sounded like it was broken, but that's why we have pedals. Best I've ever owned? Harder.... Oliver G150R nice clean 35 watt tuber. Played it for decades until it finally died a horrible smoking screeching mess. (Actually caught fire and melted the boards. I cried that day.) Original Roland Blues Cube. 60 SS watts that was Fender clean, and actually had gain that didn't sound broken.
  9. Buzzer sounding... BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.... "Wrong answer! The correct answer is, as always, One More."
  10. While doing some random searches, found out a LOT, and I mean A LOT of HC guitar reviews are dead. Including all of mine. The message I got was: [[Template reviews/front/reviews/reviewRows2 is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]] That's what originally brought me to this place.
  11. Don't know exactly what that is, but I suffer from arthritis in both hands, and trigger finger in my right. (Too many years thumping away on a bass I guess.) Every 9 month or so, I get cortisone and lanicane injection to the base of my thumb and pinky. The most painful 1/10 of a second imaginable! And 2 weeks later, I can bend my thumb and pinky without hearing and feeling a click. The thumb is especially painful and requires a brace on it so it doesn't bend. Makes some things tough.
  12. With what kind of equipment? Is it the headphone jack on your headphones? Or the headphone output jack on the device? Do the headphones work on other pieces of gear?
  13. At least we didn't lose our posts and what-not.
  14. For 1, it's a zombie thread but what the hell, right? And for 2, it's SIMPLE to do fretwork with tension on the neck. Erlewine Neck Jig - StewMac Only been out for 30 years or so. You wanna try something pleked? Try an expensive good Gibson. And Jimi didn't have a guitar that stayed in tune. Nor did he have a noise suppressor. or effects that didn't go POP everytime he touched it. But Jimi this and Jimi that..... THAT was now 64 years ago! It's amazing, but technology has changed since his day, and for the better, don't you think? Seriously, as good as he was live, his tone sucked.
  15. Ok, the Afinity series is the bottom feeder of the Squier line. Again, can be made decent, just cost money. Which obviously, you don't have. If you want a strat or tele like creature, get a Standard from Squier. You never mentioned what model of SG you have. Is it the bolt on 310, the bolt on special? or the set neck G400? There are decent brands based in Australia. Haze, Maton, Harvester, Hancock, plus you get Japanese guitars that never made it to the shores of the USA. Lots of Aria Pro II's, Ibanez's FGN, Greco, the list is near endless. Go pawn shopping. Check Cash Converters and see what they have. There is always eBay. I see an Australian thrift store selling project guitars all the time. I would grab one in a heartbeat, but the shipping isn't viable for a 100 dollar guitar. OR save your money for something good. A used Gibson Tribute Paul or SG is around the 1100-1500 Australian dollar mark.
  16. Yeah, expected the worst, luckily it didn't happen.
  17. Yes, I don't know where they ship to however.
  18. Rondo Music Electric Guitars Everything I have ever gotten from them, I have 4 now, have been top notch, and punches WAY beyond their weight class. Right now there is a waiting period on some models.
  19. My big issue with any kind of pedal that supposedly sounds like an amp, is the amp it's going to driven through.
  20. At half of the price of a comparable Epi, probably NOT an upgrade. Here's the deal, companies like that might have decent specs on paper, but their parts often suck. Let's say you get the Paul like creature.... New pickups, since they probably suck, 150-200 bucks. New tuners, since they will mostly suck, 60 bucks. New pots and switches, since again, they will suck, 30-50 bucks. Maybe new hardware, another 40-60 bucks. A bone nut, since plastic sucks, 50 bucks. Then let's talk about fretwork... It will need a setup, and unless you can do the work, about 60-100 bucks an hour. For me, I would do all that work in about 2-3 hours, So 500+150+60+40+50+250= a little over 1050, for a $500 dollar guitar. And if you go to sell it, it's still only a $500 guitar with good parts. I've gone down that rabbit hole with guitars, so I know from first-hand experience. The choice is yours however.
  21. Like he said above, they all seem to be sold out. Some decent pricing, especially with a hard case, but I would go with Agiles or SX, sold thru Rondo. I have a few of their guitars, and they compare quite well with the big name companies. (Their Paul copies are just outrageous!) Rondo Music Electric Guitars
  22. Not a lot of info out there, but the Morris name has resurfaced as a "higher" end line of acoustics. Here's a catalog shot, but if you don't read Japanese, it's not that much help other than possibly seeing one that's close. 78 Morris 7-1 ( first half ) 82' (archive.org) And the basic info. Morris guitars – Jedistar
  23. I've seen them on older Japanese guitars from the 60's/70's, and on expensive Ernie Ball's. I don't see a plus or a minus to it.
