  1. IBANEZ tremolo arm for Lo-TRS - Guitar Parts Center 6mm Tremolo Arm - StewMac IBANEZ RULES!! - PARTS FOR SALE A few seconds of google is a wonderful thing.
  2. You already have your answer if going by the reviews. For me, either a set of EMG SA, or a set of Bill Lawrence L250. The Fender Noiseless are a good option also, being that Bill Lawrence designed them.
  3. Musically, it's not bad. Production wise...... there are issues. Guitar just seems to be buried behind the drums and reverb. in the B section, the guitars seem to fade in and out periodically. Might be the the download, but it's noticeable. And during the repeat of the A section. same thing. And in fact, all thru the song at various parts, there's fading.
  4. Between the pots, it's in the way, behind the tone pot, too far away, I agree with DM about a push/pull switch. Hell, you could have 2 push/pulls, (coil tap on one, and series parallel on the other.) and no one would suspect it would be capable of those kind of tones.
  5. Thank you guys! Yeah, the Ibanez was on the inexpensive side of life. And yes DM, you make a good point, but.... how can you kick this beauty to the curb? Made by Ibanez for the Canadian market, and has a telecaster GUITAR neck pickup, with the tele 3 screw plate, as the pickup for a bass? I mean, wood, maple, tortoise shell, and chrome. I mean CHROME!!!! (And cheap too! With a hardcase. Whispers.... like 50 bucks cheap.)
  6. I've had brand new jack ends go out. Use a multi meter to check the plugs, then the cables. Heck, might even be a strand of wire from ground shorting out the whole thing.
  7. If it's an older one, made in Korea. Modern, maybe Korea, maybe China. Don't let MIC cloud your judgement. Agiles are GREAT guitars!
  8. Saw this in a, surprise, pawn shop, and couldn't say no. Even Mrs. Penguin, who knows I don't play bass much now-a-days, told me to get it. She's an Ibanez SR250. Basswood, maple, with a "rosewoodish" fret board,34" scale, and 24 frets. I have become a sucker for pearl finishes, and this one is flawless. Issues where it needed a new battery, had to tighten a loose pot, and needed to drop the pickups a bit. Otherwise she was perfect out of the store. Now the question is: is it a keeper, or do I flip it? Plays great, sounds great, the 3 band EQ really works well, and it feels real nice in the hands and in the lap. However, arthritis sucks, the left hand KNOWS the drill, but the right hand.... I lost a LOT of my technique, and doubtful I will be getting it back, nor do any gigs requiring bass playing. And if I do, I have a couple of 30" scale basses, and a standard 34 ancient P bass copy. We'll see what happens. Enjoy all!
  9. Sorry, but if I have to send the guitar out to have the saddle, nut and frets worked on, I wouldn't buy it in the first place. I would keep the search going.
  10. Good luck with that! It's surprisingly easy to have the tolex act like tissue paper and rip. Buy some and have some on hand for repairs.
  11. Are you looking for JUST a violin shaped bass? There's basically 3 brands to choose from: Hofner, Epiphone, and Rogue. (Sold thru musician's friend.) If just looking for a decent bass, anything Ibanez will be good. Don't know the UK pricing, but a used Ibanez SR series bass is a good choice.
  12. Treble bleeds don't go to ground. It goes from the IN of the pot to the OUT of the same pot. And the only time you notice it, is when you turn down. (It keeps the high end from disappearing.)
  13. Here's the question: does it work the way it is? If so, then it's fine. if not, replace it.
  14. Only when you turn down, will you notice a treble bleed. The highs still come out at 5, as they would on 10.
  15. Move on, let it go, block him.
  16. Trying to understand what you mean. Uhhh.... You have 2 keyboards, wired together...?
  17. Ok, despite the verb and delay in the video, I am quite impressed with this thing......Santa... are you listening?
  18. So it's safe to assume you are ACTUALLY buying a guitar now?!? Heavens be praised and all that crap. Simple things here: no, having a coil tap switch will NOT interfere with a guitars tone. It's a case of, if it isn't being used, it's not in the circuit. If you feel you have to replace the guitars pickups, BEFORE actually BUYING that guitar, then don't buy it. 6 in line, or 3 + 3 heastocks, the strings DO NOT fall out a nut, unless the nut is badly cut. Nope, just doesn't happen. And locking tuners, on a non trem guitar is a waste of money. Yes, I've heard that they save time. What 5 minutes changing strings? Not worth it. And I have them on a trem equipped guitar. Pain in the asterics! In about 15, 20 years you can consider refretting a guitar. Not a main worry to consider bolt on over set neck. (Kinda a stupid thing to concern yourself with right now.) Quick changing knobs.... WTF are they? Today's modern finishes, mostly poly, will not yellow with age, unless you keep your guitar in a smoke filled, EXTRA high UV setting, like 24 hour a day sunlight. Nitro, you have a case.
