  1. It's very common. I remember back in my retail days we recieved some of the first JEM Ibanez guitars to be produced. Via signed I believe the first 100, we had three of those. Most of that early run came in with fret ends hanging over the edge of the neck, and those guitars weren't cheap even back then. It has to do with the manufacturer using green wood for it's necks and by the time it dries out and in the store you have fret ends (that and the weather like mentioned) Now look how desired those guitars are. Go back and get it, you know you want it.
  2. I love this thread because I've had a renewed passion for my Les Paul. My Paul was my first guitar that I bought in 1976 ($325) after mowing lawns all summer. It's a '71 deluxe, of course after having it a year or two I routed out the pickups to get full humbuckers in there. The thing has been with my entire musical journey and it plays like butter. I just replaced the neck pick up with a Duncan Antiquity PAF. I'm always in shock when I pull current Les Pauls off store walls, they are never set up and they feel like they have too much laquer. I'm sure they are nice once they're set up.
  3. Touch my Monkey and now Dieter we dance......... It's always fun when you see someone you've known for awhile and then you see what they really like to do!
