  1. Don't buy the AKG D112. Use the Behringer B1 your friend leant to you on kick drum. It's acually remarkably good for that (I have one and will provide audio clips if people don't believe me). In future when you buy a better kick mic use it on floor tom (which I have also had good results with). You will need to use the -10dB pad and have your pre amp turned down to the minimum level. Even with this some pre amps i've tried were unable to handle this level so you may need an additional pad or a pre amp with a pad. Use the money you didn't spend on a D112 to get yourself an overhead or two. I've heard good results from Oktava MK-012 or MC-012. You don't need two overheads but it is generally better to have two to create a stereo image. They don't need to be a matched pair, just two of the same mic. Then learn how to tune drums if you aren't already an expert and your setup can grow and be upgraded in the future as you get better at using it.
  2. from survey: "1 watt, Class-A amplifier 1 Channel that can range from a good clean sound to a ripping, over-the-top distortion Voiced like a modern, higher gain Marshall JCM 800" Are you sure it is 1 watt? That wouldn't get anywhere powering a 4x12" I think there would be a market for high quality 1 channel amplifiers that can achieve a range of sounds. I however like to be able to achieve a completely differnent sound at the touch of a button so levitate towards amplifiers with more features.
