  1. +1 for mhn433. Nice pickups! Very fast shipping. Thanks!
  2. A huge +1 for nevermind. Excellent person to trade with. Extremely cooperative, patient, and helpful. (Guitar was excellent, too!) (Sorry for the delayed post; I was waiting for HC 2.0!)
  3. Nice and thank you for that piece of information. I thought it was dragons blood but looking at the masterpiece posted in that color I thought the one I bought was a little darker. *edit after looking at the burst color mines deffinately not that either : / ......Mine is a solid color maybe just called red ? See Morgan's post above. Guitar manufacturers often issue a few guitars in a color only to decide not to a full release in that color. If you got a red one, then yours is pretty rare.
  4. That serial number makes it 2006, which is when the Special was first released. Just read the announcement press release, and they produced a limited number of cherry sunbursts that year. It sounds like that's what you have.
  5. $400 is a very good price if it's actually a Special X. I love my white Special, which I got for $400 in like-new condition. Easily on par with any guitar in the $400-$700 range.
  6. All actual studios have a carved top and trap inlays. To answer the OP "why do some not care fore the cheaper models" Because they're idiots To not "care for" a particular guitar does not make someone an idiot. On the other hand, to say that "all Gibson Studios suck" might indicate that someone is mentally challenged (or trolling). I personally have owned two Gibson Les Paul Studios. Both were excellent guitars, but I "didn't care for them" so I sold them. Specifically, I don't like the way Gibson finishes their fret ends on unbound necks. Also, I "don't care for" the 490/498 pickups that Gibson chooses to put in many of their Studios. I realize that both of these issues are easy to remedy (in fact I "fixed" both issues on mine). But ultimately I decided to sell my Studios and keep my Epiphone Elitist, just because I feel it is "more bang for the buck" and I prefer the way it feels, looks, sounds, and plays. As with just about any post on HCEG, your experience may differ from mine.
  7. Practice Amp Closeout! Asking $100 each, including CONUS shipping, for the following items. All are in excellent to like-new condition. PM me with questions or offers. Not interested in trades right now. Epiphone Valve Jr. Head - Rev. 2 (first version of head) - unmodded. Excellent condition - just one small nick in tolex. Works perfectly. Comes in original box. Epiphone Valve Junior 1x12 Cab - 16 ohm, 70 watt Eminence Lady Luck speaker. Mint condition. Comes in original box (box is a bit beat up). Behringer V-Tone GM110 combo amp. Excellent condition. Analog amp/cab modeling. Ten-inch Jensen/Bugera speaker. Speaker out. Ready for recording with XLR DI out. Comes in original box. Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 15R combo amp. Clean and drive channels. Spring reverb. Fantasic clean tones, rivaling Fender tube amps. Drive is OK, but sounds better with pedals into Clean channel. Eight-inch Celestion speaker. Headphone out/CD in. Like-new condition. In original box. Line 6 Spider III 15 combo amp. 4 amps/channels. 6 effects (choose 2 simultaneously). Eight-inch custom speaker. Headphone/line out. CD in. Excellent condition.
  8. I need to unload a bunch of stuff before I move at the end of the spring, so let's get started! PM me with questions and offers. More pictures available for most items. All prices include shipping in CONUS. BC Rich Mockingbird Special with upgraded pickups and BC Rich Coffin Case. Excellent condition. Great LP copy with high-output Rockfield FatAss humbuckers. No issues. $375 Gibson Faded V with deluxe Gibson gig bag. Near mint condition. $525 Epiphone Elitist Jay Jay French Les Paul Standard with Elitist case. Marked 2nd, but no flaws that I can find. Handcrafted in Japan. Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups. $600
  9. +1 on the comfortable neck and the pickups. The pickups are ceramics, but they are very clear and not too harsh. To me, the neck is more comfortable than MIM necks, but not as nice as American Deluxe necks. For the going rate of $75-$125, what's not to like?
  10. Another good deal with dcindc. Beautiful guitar, Dave. Thanks.
  11. +1 for A-20. Great person. Very easy to work with.
  12. Electar Tube 10 is a great, often overlooked amp. I put a new speaker in mine, which really helped un-muddy the tone. However, it really comes into its own when plugged into a 2x12. That said, I couldn't be happier with my Vox AC4. Sounds great through its own speaker, and even better through my 1X12 with Alnico Blue.
  13. Great trade with A3C. Excellent communication and detailed pictures of guitar beforehand. Fast shipping. I think both of our great guitars are happier with their new owners.
  14. OK. Must unload a few things this month. Student loan interest is coming due; long-delayed dental work; etc. PM me with questions or offers. I am not really looking for trades, but you never know... Parker Southern NiteFly with OHSC. Near-mint condition. Sounds and plays great. Stock except I added a Fender 4-way switch. SD pickups plus piezo plus 4-way switch = many options, but it still sounds like one of the best teles I have played. Neck is a bit on the thin/narrow side, which is the only reason I am selling it. Asking $850 shipped CONUS. Epiphone Elitist JJ French Les Paul with OHSC. This is a second, but I can't really find any flaws. Perhaps the neck is set 1/16 inch too deep into the body (pickups need to sit nearly flush with tops of pickup rings), but the neck anglis is correct and the guitar intonates properly. Low action with no buzzes. Fantasic tone and sustain with Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups. Tummy cut for comfort. Unique pinkburst finish (not for everyone, I realize). Typical Elitist quality. Asking $775 shipped CONUS. Xaviere XV620. Like new. Case not included. No issues. I just don't need so many tele clones. Asking $155 shipped CONUS. EDIT: ASAT and Firebird are gone.
