I have an AC booster I'm looking to trade. I am interested in the micro synth.
  2. wow. Hang in there. Hope for the best. Sorry to hear that.
  3. I played around with recording my Orange Rocker 30 last night. I have very little experience with recording guitars myself. I had a little trouble getting a good sound. I started off with the amp EQ pretty flat, gain about halfway up, and at about stage volume. I mic'd it with an SM57 about 2 inches off the center of the V30. (btw it's an avatar 2x12 closed back cab with a V30 and an H30) I was playing an SG standard with the tone and volume on ten. Basically it sounded really muddy so I rolled the bass way off and boosted the highs. The live sound was really bright but the recording was still too bassy. By the end of my iterations the bass was all the way down and the highs were almost dimed. It started to sound a little better, but still pretty dull. There's no presence control on my amp, but this made me want one. I also put the cab on a chair and got it off the floor and that helped a bit. I know I can mess with the EQ after recording, but I would rather get a good sound from the start... Here are my questions: Do a lot of people boost the higher frequencies after recording when they record guitars? Or do they always just dime the highs and zero the lows? Are my ears just off? How does moving the microphone affect EQ? I s it because I have a closed back cab? I also have a AT4040 condenser...if I used that would it help the sound to be brighter and clearer? Any suggestions will be very appreciated. Thanks
