  1. Like the title says, thinking of adding an effects loop to an amp and it seems fairly straight forward if I use a 12ax7 (well might swap it eventually with a 12au7 or something eventually, but I have a few on hand to test this out). Going to use half of the tube to drive the output with a cathode follower and use the 2nd half as a just a gain stage as I've seen done before. But here's where things get interesting; I want to also have a mixing pot in the middle of it all, but wouldn't the return side be the opposite phase because of that gain stage? If so, would I have to add yet another gain stage or something or is there an easier way to do this and I'm just not thinking of it? I did search a bit on this topic but didn't get much info, particularly on the mixing pot issue I think I'm going to have. TIA for any pointers.
