  1. Are you worried about your job? I don't think there's such a thing as a secure job. There's always someone out there who can do it better, more efficiently and cheaper than you. You just have to pray your work ethic is top notch and is what sells you to your employer to feel "secure". So in that regard, I'm not super worried. Ability to pay rent or mortgage? My rent is cheap enough that as long as I have a job I should be ok. Your retirement / 401k? Like lots of people, mine took a nosedive but I don't think it was that bad. I'm still young so I can rebuild it. Are you putting off purchases? Big ones, yes. Entertainment expenses, somewhat. I still like to go out to dinner occasionally. Is it altering your income directly from music? I don't think I've ever been paid to perform! Are you worried about a prolonged recession? Yes because it will affect everybody in one way or another.
  2. I've never heard a B-250 before - that was pretty nice!
  3. Yeah, I just came across that pic also. How would you say it compares to the CX-3?
  4. There was a band playing last night and the keyboardist had (what I believe was) a Hammond X2. I couldn't tell how it sounded because I caught the tail end of their performance but after chatting with him a little he said he liked it. I'm sure he told me exactly what model it was but I was drinking so I can't remember Does it actually sound like a true hammond?
  5. I think I was one of the first to post here a few years ago after buying Samson C02 mics. No one really had anything to say about them, but I always thought they were good. A tad bright, but I have been using them as my drum overheads and have no problems. The brightness isn't too big a deal because I drown my overheads ut quite a bit in the mix and it gives it a more even balance, if that makes sense. When I bought them they were a little less than $120 for the matched pair. They're nice on acoustic guitar too, but the room makes a huge difference because these mics are pretty sensitive.
  6. I have an MXL 992 and it isn't that bad; I think it has to be used on the right vocals or the right guitar though. It's not really a versatile mic in that sense, but can give good results if you find that happy medium. I used it for vocals on my latest project and on acoustic guitar. Also, try miking the acoustic guitar with the MXL about 2 feet away pointing at the soundhole and a pencil condenser pointing away from the MXL and at the neck of the guitar. That was a really nice sound.
  7. Thanks. My vocal mic sucks and I'm still learning how to Eq vocals properly. I agree totally. Last time I posted a new tune, someone mentioned the kick drum as well I don't have a real kick drum mic yet, i just use a Senn e835 for now. Everytime I have the money to finally go out and get an Audix or something I tend to forget and blow it on something else!
  8. Hey, Most recent track, done with the Firepod. I'm still considering all my home stuff demo-grade, as I do record professionally, but I would like comments on the recording quality. I still am a novice at this stuff... Wherever She May Be
  9. I had the Firepod dropout on me once on my G4. Can't say the mac is really any more reliable if it's an older machine...
