  2. The circuitry has been the same since Jesus was in diapers. I've owned about 7 or 8 C30s. Killer amp. Except the guy who mentioned "metal" ... I don't think you thought that one through, or you're listening to a different kind of metal than I've ever heard.
  3. If you still have the Laney when I get my play-money built back up we'll definitely talk.
  4. A bump from Greensboro. The Laney is essentially a head version of my old LC-50 combo ... exact same circuitry and a killer amp. I miss the hell outa mine.
  5. Nice Laney combo. I've missed my LC-50 ever since she left me. The TTs totally rock. With 6L6s it has one of the warmest, deepest cleans I've ever heard. And the gain channel is awesome hot-rodded British.
  6. Yes. With the cab, or without.
  7. def dont get anything with v30's. You need a darker sounding cab for those laneys. Whats your price range? Agreed. I have tried every speaker under the sun with my Laney and the Eminence Stonehenge and Tonker sounded way better than anything else, including Vintage 30s and Emi Governors (V30 inspired). A warm, round Brit speaker worked best, imho. Perhaps a pair of those new "Green Beret" speakers? Anything with an old worn Greenie vibe would work nicely. Even a Peavey Sheffield from a 5150 combo was nice with the Laney.
  8. For sale or trade locally, and will travel to meet ... Almost new Ceriatone DC30 and 2x12 Celection V30 cab. The Ceriatone DC30 is Nik's clone of the Matchless HC30 (I think), and is an EL-84 based circuit switchable between 15 and 30 watts, and with an additional EF86 on channel 2 which increaes the gain as the channel is cranked (on 15 watt mode the cranked amp is GORGEOUS! The cab is a closed-back Vintage 30 loaded box with matching orange tolex. The builder is a forum member and has been very gracious answering quesitons about it, and I'm sure he would be for the new owner, as well. Looking for $900 for head and cab (OBO), or trade for a higher-end 1x12 tube combo such as Laney LC-50 or VC-30, Mesa F50 or DC5 or Nomad 55, or similar. May be open to other trades, but it needs to be local, within reasonable drive-to-meet distance of Greensboro, NC.

  10. Hiya, did you go to Eric Lindsey's in Catford - great shop that, I've bought there for years. I rang shops all around the London area and only about 2 had them in stock. In the end, I found one in a drum shop in Battersea (don't ask me why). I also tried out the LC15r and it wasn't as sweet as the VC. In terms of construction, not flimsy at all - solid, grille protector for the tubes etc - all the stuff Peavey didn't offer. Cheers Yeah ... that was it. Lindsey's place. At the time I was planning to move to Lewisham and was trying to either pare down my gear, or sell it all and buy in London. Shipping costs for the truckload of crap I had last yuear would have been horrid. As it turns out ... I married the most beautiful lady in the world right here in greensboro and stayed put. Love the city though. I'd move to London in a heartbeat.
