This jam is something I threw together in the style of Miles Davis' great 70's bands... the whole thing is basically E. Em on the A section, EMaj on the B section, roughly
As always, any requests for a "Minus one" version for drummers, bassists, etc... can be accomodated.
Have at it!!

Man, took me a combination insomnia and procrastination to finally post in here, but finally. Love the track! Take is "unpolished" at best and kinda ran out over the edge of the cliff coyote style at the end, but oh well.
Finally!!!! Took ya long enough!!!
And of course, the results do not disappoint
And I heard that "squib cakes" lick again!
-
I like how the two Rhodes blend!!! Nice Hammond touch too! And the guitar playing is killer! That Mortatrem sounds mean!
-
It's got a couple of warts' date=' and I kinda messed up the ending. [img']http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/core/images/smilies/philpalm.png[/img]
A video even! Nice!!!! Maceo!

Nice! I like the thematic approach, very horn-like!
-
Wow... that's a seriously aggressive way to attack the tune!!! I kinda like the never-stopping psychedelic swirl you got goin on...and as always, your B3/Leslie sound GREAT.
-
LOVE Dexter!!!! Also a really good actor, as it turned out
-
Ledak.... KILLER!!! I'm loving all the bebop lines, and of course the reckless chromaticism
-
Yeah, I know its only been a week, but I felt like it
This one is my James Brown tribute/mashup, basically several JB grooves kinda thrown together. A section in Dm7, B section in G7. So gismo recording gets his wish for a tune in C
Have at it! And as always, any requests from drummers and/or bassists for "-1" versions can be accommodated.

E7#9? When I first saw this thread there were no chords posted and the B section sounded to me like Bm so that's what I played.
And it worked... because E7 (the #9 is just a tension builder, it doesn't alter the chord's function) and Bm are both diatonic in the key of A, Bm being the ii and the E7 being the V.
And its odd that you didn't see the chords, as I posted them right when I created the OP.

Nice BT Red Ant! Jealous you can play keys as well as guitar.
Here's my take: https://soundcloud.com/stratovarious/hc-jam-2.
I had no idea what to play in the E7 part, so I just noodled around.
Nice take! I dig the melodic stuff at the top, and I like your approach to the E7#9 as well... you treated it as a V and not a key change, which adds nice tension!

Oh Yeah I have a soundcloud account now.
ReverbNation doesn't have a way to link directly to a song
Nice! Very "organistic" approach, and killer tone! Love the dirt in the Leslie!!!
-
Went back and looked at 7 or 8 other tracks that I didn't include and remixed it with different guitars and B3.
Really nice!!! I love how you really lean on the Maj 3d in the 1st A section, very Coltrane-like approach to blues
2:10 to 2:17 is pure gold!
The "out" stuff from about 2:40 is REALLY cool! And the stuff at the end really sings!
-
For some reason my phone refuses to play that. I'll try on the computer once I'm home.
-
Gismo allow me to let you in on a secret.. that stuff sounds a LOT more impressive than it actually is. Here's the whole trick - stacked 4ths. So for the left hand chord in this case, it's A-D-G. Then you just move it when you feel like it, chromatic ally or diatonically. And the right hand is the exact same deal, except arpeggiated
-
Wow! Some great bits in there - I really enjoyed that.
Thanks man! The "McCoy Tyner" part is sloppy as all hell, but you can't say I didn't go for it
-
Here's a bit of something - a Les Paul through a Boss ME-25.
Anton, your Rhodes parts remind me a bit of a couple of albums that really influenced me in the early days...
Nice take, onelife, very Wes early on. I like the Wah work too!
As for those two records, I never listened to LA Express, but I WORE OUT several copies of Blow by Blow, Max Middleton is huge influence on my keys
-
And here's my take... though I'm not sure "take" is an apt description... more like arrangement/modal freakout

McCoy Tyner I ain't

Nice!!! I like some of the chromaticism!!!! And was that a stab at a horn section (pardon the pun, LOL)?
-
Just noticed that I overstepped my bounds posting my own BT. Should I take it down?

And here's the new one! This one is done by yours truly, and imaginatively titled "jam #2". A medium-tempo A7-D7 vamp, with a E7#9 vamp for a B section.
The current backing is drums, bass & rhodes - any drummers, bassists or keyboardists with requests for "-1" versions let me know, and they can be uploaded... but for now, have at it!

Sweet!!! Nice aggressive playing and great tone!!
-
Nice!!! Great tone!!!

Well I was considering putting up one of the simpler jazz backing tracks I got - maybe Equinox or Freddy or Red Clay... but they haven't played too well in the past with most of the jammers.
