  1. I've got 27 of them. I'm okay with the names the manufacturers gave 'em.
  2. I play music for fun. If I find myself in a situation that is not or is no longer fun I remove myself from that situation. Just for comparison, when I'm at work and I'm in a situation that is not fun, I am obligated to deal with it all the same. The fact that I am compensated financially for that makes it worth the effort. Music is fun. I don't make any money playing it but I don't care because I'm enjoying myself. Just like somebody going fishing, or playing golf on the weekend, I grab a LP or a Strat and start ripping.
  3. This was my first nice guitar... ...this was about '73 or '74.

  7. That's just me. I like a bunch of guitars but I don't really get that excited about them. Naming them has always seemed so pointless. Never really saw any point in naming anything that couldn't respond to you. Guitars are nothing more than hunks of wood and some hardware. I mean really, I find this whole naming your guitar thing, well...

  9. The guitar manufacturers already named all my guitars before I purchased. I find that works pretty well for me.
  10. Cocky guitar players don't bother me in the least. If they've got the chops to backup that attitude then I've no problem at all with it. More power to 'em. If they're cocky and can't play than they're nothing more than a source of amusement, whether they know it or not. Having said that, just about all of the REALLY good players I've met are very humble cats. Their attitude is more like they've nothing to prove and their playing will do all the talking they need to say.
  11. Originally posted by Devius ...both girls reach into their pockets and show me two condoms. They say "These are getting old, could you help us?" At that time my mind was screaming "This kind of stuff doesn't happen to me! I'm just a guitarist in an unknown rock-band!" while I had to politely decline the amazing offer, hopped on my bus and went home to my girlfriend. Are you sure you're really a guitar player?
  12. I've always used just plain old lemon oil on my ebony boards. Like the others have said, it don't take much.
