I'm 36, been playing for around 18 years. I started by learning major chords, then some of the easier jazz chords. Listened to my father and brother play both electric and acoustic for years, then finally started playing and teaching myself. I played a lot of blues, and consequently branched out to other rock and jazz territory. Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix were two players I focused on back then; afterward, I found interest in J Mascis, Billy Corgan, Eric Johnson, and John McLaughlin.
