Your best bet is to get hold of Yorkville service department and see what they can do. You might be able to get it repaired by them depending on your location. As far as you can tell the woofers are ok?

Good to see you stop by. For me with things going on at home I do fun stuff once in a while just to justify keeping the gear. 😉 We lost so many venues in the area due to Covid there is simply not much going on anyway. A few private parties and festivals again just for fun. Other than that, just taking it easy. This video is for an idea of the outside shows. The speakers and band were maybe 30 feet inside this tent as rain was in the forecast which of course never happened. With the limiter and me spinning around the volume, highs and lows change quite a bit but with good headphones the band can be made out. Like you I hope this group picks up in the future. Doug

All subs makes and models are different. The best thing to do if possible is try out before you buy. If you can't do that then go by the specs and go from there. Only you know how "Loud" and how "deep" you need to go and the size and weight you want to work with. RCF, Yamaha, and even Yorkville make some good 15 inch subs. As with everything in life it is how much money you want to spend. 😉

Good to see you stop by and keeping the site going. I did retire and am home with my wife. She has stage 4 cancer so keeping close to home. Still do a small show for fun once in a while. Did one this Thursday and things went well. Please keep in touch!

I see the DM3 is out. DM3"S" or standard or DM3"D" with Dante. Not bad at all for the 16 and under XLR jobs. Could be a good bar band kind of mixer. Only 14lbs.

I could understand if the one channel you were plugged into went down. Are you sure the whole desk went down? Did you check the line fuse?

If I remember right the crossover points were 800hz and 7000khz. I don't remember being able to defeat those either. Sort of a single use amp. I had an AB International President 900A and it was a great amp like most in the line. Let us know if your able to find a way to use it. I remember them as a very punchy, solid sounding amps. 

  The Ghost of Paul Revere has had their trailer stolen in Colorado. I've worked with them and a great bunch of guys.

You'll need to go into 2 channels on your Mackie. The XLR in is a Single channel with a balanced input. Pin 1 ground, Pin 2 positive and pin 3 should be the same as pin 2 but it's Polarity reversed. Use your Mackie 1/4 inch Line inputs on each channel.  You can get RCA Phono Plug to 1/4 inch jack adaptors for the Left and Right outs and go into 2 channels on the Mackie.

Those have been gone for several years now. I still see them from time to time with this or that band. I had 4 and they worked great but again took a fair amount of power. I seen 1 pair that that was mine that was in a club house system sell for $150 dollars for the pair when they went out of business. They had no idea what they were. When you used the EF12p's were the subs used with them?  I've used the older EF500p/Ls801pb combo and with subs the very top end of the horns was the only thing I though was lacking in that setup. How was source? Each channel ok?  Sometimes when going to a different speaker it's best to reset everything on the desk and start over. Eq and everything that was setup for one brand/type system may be completely wrong for another.

They have a couple different powered 18's. Which one are you thinking of? I'm guessing this one https://www.rcf.it/en_US/products/product-detail/sub-708-as-ii/233982  regardless it has about 2 db's more output and I'm betting a deeper overall tone. Your tops may start to struggle to keep up but having too much is easy to turn down and easy to have should you be outside. Up to you if the additional output and weight is worth it.  As a side note I've been looking at the 18's to replace my Yorkville Ls801pb's just to save weight and they are smaller also. I've heard good about both the 15 and 18.

   Had a fun weekday show last night. Had a ton of rain during setup but it cleared up for show time. Expecting 175 or so but I'd guess closer to 300 by the mid/end point. M32R desk with IG2T for a stage right side fill and a pair or IG4T's with 2 Ls801pb subs. Cell phone video is terrible as I had my finger over the mic some at the start and I have no idea why it is turned sideways as I had my phone up right. Good time regardless.

The Peavey has a Peak spl of 119 db's. The RCF has a peak output of 131db's. Most people feel if a source is 10 db's louder it is twice as loud. That is quite a step up. 2 of the Peavey subs placed side by side will give you a total of 125db peak output. ( 3 db's for twice the surface area of the cones and 3 db's for twice the wattage ) 1 RCF will be louder than 2 of the peaveys all things being equal. The peavey's are good subs but the RCF's are quite a step up. 2 RCF's placed side by side will give you around 137 db's. If your using the peavey's the best output will be with them coupled/placed side by side. Either in the center of the stage or both on 1 side or the other.

Db Technologies IG4T's. For what they do a very light 40lbs. They will do what a 15 inch woofer with a 3 inch voice coil horn driver will do with subs. I like them.

Looking forward to your review. I agree, where is Al? Should you try them as monitor wedges, even just for testing, let us know your thoughts? Around 20 pounds and 129 db output seems like a nice product.  Went out with a bunch setup under a tent last week. First time in 1 1/2 years.  The crowd stayed outside until later when the beer garden "effect" hit. Around 300 in attendance counting the beer garden. Town supplied the outside fills.  Was a fun show. Everyone was just on DI's with a few peddles for this and that. Some on IEM's and 2 on floor wedges. Bass player was straight into a $20 DI pedal and he was happy with just listening to the front so I didn't even work on his IEM mix. Keep us posted on your new mains!
