  1. My new album is out today. Really proud of it. 70's glamrock beats, old Eko Tiger organ sounds, spring reverby danelectro guitars, lofi/midfi, bumpy drums, melodies, noise, fuzz, dirt ...

I think there's some really good songs on it. I wouldn't mind if you set apart some minutes and give it a listen ;-)
And if you really want to possess it, it's available as download/CD/black vinyl and deluxe edition in colored vinyl plus a 7"inch split-single with surfband "Juleah".
Have a nice day you nice people!

  2. yeah, my fender champ 600 only gets used for two sound: danelectro 56 -> champ with original speaker -> lo input ->volume 8-10 = gets me some nasty, fuzzy sixties garagerock sound. and sometimes i run the vox over the top boost pedal into the champ -> 2x10" celestion cab = nice crunchy, voxy sound. but that's about it. the pathfinder is a much more mature amp.

  3. i did the led mod too yesterday, well, sort of, as i pulled them out just like houseofglass21. it seemed to have become louder and with more headroom. but mine has still the nasty noise when overdriven chords are fading out due to being burned when used without the 110->220v transformer.
my question: would a normal pathfinder 15r combo fit into my pathfinder 15r head? i am thinking about changing it if it fits.

i have the mini head and combo, i liked it a lot before some c@nt tried it with european 220 volt and forgeting to put inbetween the US 110 -> 220 volt transformer (i bought it from the US so the vox had 110 volt) and burned it!!!!!!
i made it repair but it makes some nasty noise now when overdriven and i let a chord fade out ... to bad ...
  5. my finished cover of JOHN LENNON'S "WORKING CLASS HERO"

    ========================================

all done by myself: playing, singing, recording, mixing. i am rather satisfied, would although like to hear if you have some comments/suggestions.

i am a firm believer that you should record it as it should sound later. that's why i made only small resonance corrections with EQ at mixing. only artificial reverb was done with the piano.

    recording:

ac.git - rode nt5 at 12. fret, rode nt2a farer away to get some room ambience, all into LA-610

vocal - rode nt5 into LA-610 with little compression

piano - logic express yamaha piano

    mixing:

ac.git - compressed with the FNR AUDIO RNC

vocal - logic tape delay and liquid mix amek angela EQ

piano - liquid mix amek angela EQ and liquid mix LA-2A compressor

stereo sum - liquid mix with neve 33609 and liquid mix Chandler Limited Passive TG Channel MKII Abbey Road EQ 100Hz +2dB / 12kHz +2dB

thanks. i "played" a bit with the EQs last weekend and cleared up the voice a bit.

recording: my drummer records his drums first with i think 4 or 5 mikes going into a mixer and then into cubase. its all mixed on the spot, so unfortunately no chance of changing the drumsounds afterwards.

i record my guitar part with a vox tonelab SE right into my MAC using cubase. its very simple and cheap.

  7. thanks to all for your comments.

you are right: it is rather lo-fi and rough and the performance has some weak points but i think for a demo it's ok.

i will try and make the vocals clearer, maybe take some of the reverb of and use more compression.

yeah, the riff is not a monster of originality, but it suits the song well and sounds great to me.

thanks @ boosh for the CCR reference! when i played that little guitar fill at 0:55 i was totally thinking "wow! john fogerty would be proud of me!!!"

but i cannot agree with you in making the song shorter. i really think that the coda is needed, the repeated melodic singing and the little guitar solo complete with handclaps do add a perfect outro and form a nice little popsong. that's the needed variation in the song.

thanks again to all. much appreciated!

I basically just used a simple theme and then tried out different orchestrations. I've never had to automate midi volume so much until I started using this library. It really takes a lot of work to sound close to realistic.

I was curious to hear how the mix sounds on everyone else's speakers. I think the piano could probably use a little more reverb to help push it back a little. Feel free to comment on the mix, the music, or whatever. Thanks

i just listened to your work on my office MAC speakers, so i won't comment on the mix/reverb, but those samples sound damn good. i felt very relaxed until ... the drums came in :D

those samples are quality! very very nice piano playing.

  9. Please listen - new song - virtual top 10 hit!

i am terribly proud of this new song i've written and recorded. it's called "pop child" and it has the sixty-pop-rock-vibe i aimed for. i think if a well known UK would release it as a single, it would be a top 10 hit!

i consider the mix finished although i tried not to touch to much and let it almost as i recorded. afterall its a demo and it has not to be perfect, but lemme know what you think about the recording quality and the song itself!

    every comment welcome!
