  1. For the money I have invested in it, I am very happy with my 460. I bought it as part of a mic kit a few years back, on the advice of a sound-man friend.
  2. It's nothing fancy. The mic is an Apex 460 tube-condenser microphone. I run it through my Yamaha PSR-3000 keyboard as a pre amp, and I record using Reaper and an Maudio Delta 66 interface. All I do to the horn is add reverb. The keyboard has an on board compressor which is usually on, too. I know the keyboard isn't the best for a pre amp, but the mic is always hooked up to it as I use it for practicing and recording vocals, too.I'm just too lazy to unhook it and run it through my mixer.
  3. Despite my best intentions, I ended up sounding a bit like "JBMashup". I was shootin' for spank, but I ended up with wank. https://youtu.be/p4Mod4bOgso
  4. Thanks, Anton. Wayne is among my favourite tenor players. It's indeed an honour to be compared to him.
  5. Thanks. Long way to go before I sound like Maceo. lol Dude's smokin'!
  6. Love Dexter! I'm currently waiting for a copy of his biography from Amazon.
  7. It's got a couple of warts, and I kinda messed up the ending. https://youtu.be/gmTgovQtgYY
  8. Those would all be good choices, methinks. Watermelon Man is another one that seems to work well. Jazz is like scotch or coffee, I've found. Definitely an acquired taste.
  9. Thanks guys. I've had the lava lamp for what seems like forever. I switch it on when I power up my gear, and by the time it's warmed up and flowing, I usually am too.
