    I bet that boat anchor of a 79 Gibson Les Paul Custom doesn't possess the same level of boat-anchorism that an 79 Antoniotsai geetar has.  No way.  By the way, I own a rare pre-war '34 Les Paul Custom.  Heavy as hell, coz they made 'em to last back then, and it has.  Str8 Pimpin

    Man, tough crowd out there.

     

     

    Did all of this eBay activity take place this week? If so, (and since you're in the US) not everybody was home for the Labour Day weekend and probably not home for part of the earlier week or maybe this week. Did you have your auction close late at night or at the crack of dawn US time?

    Anyone know what a PLEK machine costs?

    I got quite a chuckle about some of the misinformation on the subject matter in this thread. Here are the current facts about the machine...

     

     

    Don't lose any sleep over the misinformation posted in this thread. About 10 percent of those posting know what they are talking about and the other 90 percent are, umm, a buncha bloody ne'er-do-wells much like meself that wouldn't know a PLEK from a pluk if we ran into one headlong -- in broad daylight. ;)

     

    By the way, make it a habit to visit here more often. :thu:

    Here we go again! Lets see if we can top 200 posts!

     

     

    This one's slowly turning into another epic thread like "omg, my ultimate NGD is today ..." -- except it's the virtual equivalent of an old wild west bar room fight where everyone is punching each other in the face or getting slung across the room into a broken pile of tables. Even the moderator is breaking chairs over heads! :eek:

     

    I dunno. The full moon phase occurred last week. I think I better exit through this open window now.

    Frets you will never be a normal poster as long as you are a moderator. You cannot take your hat on and off....




    Frets99 is just like the rest of us normal posters, except he has a user interface that has a couple of extra buttons that we don't have. ;)

    Besides, he doesn't have a a normal poster hat and a moderator hat -- I've heard that he has a mean kimono with the word Moderator on the back. All of us measly normal posters out here wear our H-C ponchos.

    Before you swap pups, make sure the intonation is set properly on the guitar. If the intonation is off, the guitar may sound sour, especially with distortion. Next, try backing off the volume a bit. Adjust the tone knobs on the guitar. Also, try adjusting the pickup height...



    Not only pickup height, but polepiece height -- if you have adjustable polepieces (like most humbuckers have). I don't know why, but I have a specific hate for imbalanced string response.

    For those that don't know how to balance string response, there have been several post with instructions for balancing string response on a humbucker pickup with adjustable polepieces.
