"One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)" - m/w Harold Arlen / Johnny Mercer - first performed by Fred Astaire but most associated with Frank Sinatra
Double word score with both double words doubled
"Tighten Up" - Archie Bell and the Drells
I read that they recorded the song, it became an unexpected but hoped for hit, and then they had to invent the "Tighten Up" dance. Even if that's an urban legend, it's a fun story.
The LP/CD "Music From Peter Gunn" with the exception of the title cut (which is rock) is one of the finest examples of "cool school" jazz I ever owned. First call session guys, great arrangements, and great solos. Highly recommended for both its historical and musical content.
