  1. If I Were a Carpenter - Tim Hardin (If I were a carpenter, I would loan the hammer to Peter, Paul and Mary in the above song)
  2. "One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)" - m/w Harold Arlen / Johnny Mercer - first performed by Fred Astaire but most associated with Frank Sinatra Double word score with both double words doubled
  3. "This Heart of Mine" - Fred Astaire Quadruple word score
  4. "Girls, Girls, Girls" - The Coasters [video=youtube;C9n3blE0K-w]
  5. "Moody's Mood For Love" - Eddie Jefferson Eddie added words to James Moody's improvised melody over "I'm In The Mood For Love".
  6. I didn't take it as negative, just playful, and I was playing along with you.
  7. "Midnight Mood" - Josef Zawinul (Keeping it out of the classic rock genre for sharkbait)
  8. "Angel Of The Morning" - Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts The original, and IMHO the best version of this song.
  9. "Tighten Up" - Archie Bell and the Drells I read that they recorded the song, it became an unexpected but hoped for hit, and then they had to invent the "Tighten Up" dance. Even if that's an urban legend, it's a fun story.
  10. The LP/CD "Music From Peter Gunn" with the exception of the title cut (which is rock) is one of the finest examples of "cool school" jazz I ever owned. First call session guys, great arrangements, and great solos. Highly recommended for both its historical and musical content.
  11. "A String Of Pearls" - Glenn Miller posted a few seconds too late and changed to... "Holiday Inn" - Elton John
  12. Crazy He Calls Me - Billie Holiday - m/w Carl Sigman / Bob Russell
  13. "Put Your Hand in the Hand" - Anne Murray - recycled successfully by Ocean
  14. "This Diamond Ring" - Gary Lewis & The Playboys (sorry about that).
