I just got a deal to rent either a Crane Song Spider or a combo of a Chandler LTD1 pre and Chandler LTD2 comp. Both deals are in my budget. SO what do you guys think I would gain more from. The Spider have A/D which probably is better than the one in my Mbox. And when I see the price fot this thing new it should have better Pres as well. Another plus whould be that I can try and experiment with more than one mic, even thou I think I would stay with max two. The Chandler Combo includes a Compressor. Is this something that would help me gain more control of the input signal and would I gain more from that then with the Spider which has no compressor ?? on the downside (maybe) it will be a mono chain, so only one mic can be used. well the Mbox pre I could use as well. and as a second question to that. would it be good to track with a OK good EQ before going to the HD Thanks

No, we record Drums and Bass in a PRO studio here in berlin, then we do Guitar and Vocals by our self. Send all the files to a guy who is a pro when it comes to mixing. He will also master everything. The reason is very simple. We don

I just got a Mbox because I wanted to do some small stuff at home. Well, now my band wanted to record a CD and we wanted to go to a pro studio to do drums and bass. Guitar and vocals we wanted to do by ourself. We have a great rehearsal room and everything so that is not the problem. Problem is that we only have the Mbox to record with. Sure we have computer and everything as well. So what do I need to get a somewhat decent sound for electric guitar. We play heavy heavy rock. down tuned to C. mics? (We have a SM 57 and a SM58) Pre if i need one? AD/DA ? and as always we are on a budget, but could probably rent alot of stuff since we sit in Berlin germany. I was hoping that 2 ch at a time would be enough, but please enlighten me
