  1. Me: I'm 48 yrs old and I've been playing in a band for most of my adult life. Actually played my first paying gig when I was 15 yrs old. Played for free beer thru most of high school I'm kind of a weekend warrior type since being a musician doesn't really pay very well. During the day I do electronics diagnostic work for Navistar Trucking. My area's of expertise would be Allison automatics, Eaton and Meritor autoshifts, Bendix and Meritor ABS systems and all Navistar branded computer systems. Band : We're a 6 piece Rock/Funk/Blues type of band. We have 2 guitars, Bass, Drums, Keys and a Sax/Flute/Bongo whatever player. 5 of us sing. GEAR : We run an A&H ZED 420 mixer which is still fairly new to us. We had been running a 16 channel Mackie mk I but needed more auxes, a few more channels and better routing options. So far I like the board. We have a set of JBL Prx535's over Prx718s's. Monitor system is in transition right now. We had been running 12" wedge Wharfedales ( 4 of them ) + one old Carvin wedge and the drummer has this mic stand mounted something or other that he's owned for 30 yrs. This hodge podge is being replaced with all new prx 512/612 monitors except for the drummer. I think he'll be buried with his current setup Application is weekend warrior. Mostly 50-250 sized rooms. Occasional larger gig/outdoor festival etc. Quite honestly we all are thrilled with the sound that we have and the headroom that's built in. I can see adding a 2nd set of speaks of equivalent quality i.e. a set of Prx635's over Prx618's for some larger gigs, but that's quite optional at this point. I'm no expert in sound but I feel pretty confident in my ears. I don't see myself EVER buying another passive speaker. I just think that it's too easy to get great sound out of properly designed powered speaks and setup is easier too. I dig easy
