  1. No interest? I hate to ebay this thing, but that may be the next stop for it. -Ben
  2. Sorry about the delayed response, it's been a busy week for me at work. Here are some pics of the F50: Front of amp: Close up of front: Amp cover: Footswitch: Rear of amp: If you need any more info on it, let me know. -Ben
  3. Up for grabs is my Mesa Boogie F50. This is a all-tube, 1x12 combo amp (the newer, wide-body chassis, for you Boogie fans). 6L6 power tubes and 12ax7 preamp tubes. Amp is in immaculate shape, and comes with the original Mesa footswitch and optional cover. It's only been used in my home studio, which is smoke-free, and used minimally, as I've switched to using Amplitube for recording purposes. These amps sell for 700-750 on ebay, so $600 is a fair price. Paypal only unless you want to send me funds and wait for them to clear. Buyer pays actual shipping costs. Interested? Pm through the board or give me a call at 785-248-3702. -Ben
  4. Hello all, Long-time Mesa fan here who has been kicking himself ever since he sold his Studio .22+ about 4-5 years ago! The good news is, I'm rejoining the family: I just scored a F-50 combo that I should have in the next week or so!!! I'm only on page 47 of this monster thread so far, but I had to share, I'm stoked!!! -Ben
  5. "Originally Posted by bfrance View Post Man, I know I'm a newbie on here, but I've been playing for like 2 weeks...... -Ben" "Fixed" Actually, no, ass, I'm 31 and I've been playing since the summer after I was in seventh grade....Oops, I guess you're right, that would make it 19 years, not 20... It's amazing how many keyboard commandos there are out there... Dude, just because you don't like Creed or their music doesn't mean that anyone who disagrees with you doesn't know anything or is a newb. Grow up...
  6. Man, I know I'm a newbie on here, but I've been playing for like 20 years or so, and I think Tremonti's tone is pretty damn solid overall. Hell, 8-9 years ago when their second disc first came out, friends of mine who were worshipping at the alter of Sevendust and the like nearly $hit themselves then they hear the low-end he was getting. Whether you love the band or hate the, it's pretty silly to say that his tone sound like crap, or that he is "wasting" all of that gear! My 2 pennies, -Ben

    New Amp Input

Thanks for the input so far! To clarify, it doesn't have to be a Mesa, I'm open to other amps, but Mesa is about all I know about. Also, I haven't bought an amp in 15+ years, so I don't know anything about any of the newer brands like Genz Benz, Engl, Bogner, etc... Keep the input coming!!! -Ben

    New Amp Input

Looking for a amp and looking for input. Ideally, I'd like a Mesa, as that is what I used to have, but I'm open to suggestions. Looking to spend 600-1000, wanting a 1x12 or 2x12 combo, new or used doesn't matter as long as it's in solid shape. Amp will be used for home recording, playing, and possibly jamming with friends, no gigging. Must be tube, and no Line 6 stuff, as I have a pod-xt now and it just isn't cutting it. Tone wise, wanting variety: I play mainly hard rock, but the amp needs to be useable for other people in my "studio for a variety of styles, including blues, jazz, lighter rock, country, etc. I'm an open slate guys, have at it!!!! -Ben

    Randall Rm50

Still for sale? If so, would you be willing to ship? Thanks, -Ben
  10. For anyone considering this amp, it's a great deal and the pics show that it's in Grade A shape. I just decided that the F100 would be a little overkill for what I'm looking for. On the hunt for an F50 now... -Ben
  11. Thanks for the input so far. Regarding the Lonestar, everyone is preaching to the choir on that one, but it's too much $$$ for this married guy's budget. Keep the input coming... -Ben
  12. Help! Long time Mesa player here, , but I've been out of the amp market for about 15 years or so. I used to have a Studio 22+ that I sold about 4 years ago and have been kicking myself ever since! I'm looking for an amp now and have narrowed it to either a F50/100 combo used, or a new/almost new Express 5:50 combo. Basically, I'm wondering about the 5:50 Express versus the F50/100 in terms of variety of tones. My background is rock/metal, but as I'm getting older, I'm playing a variety, including blues, some jazz, classic rock, etc. I figure either of these amps will do me fine, but is one more diverse as far as tone options? The useage will be home use/recording into Logic and jamming with friends. I'm beyond the point of playing out much, if at all, anymore. Also, for the rare instances that I want a modern high-gain metal tone, is one better than the other as far as running a stomp box in front to up the gain/saturation? Thanks, -Ben
