Those are Duncan takes on Filtertrons? The blue/white thing is okay... maybe do a Mr Freeze thing.... but I'd change or remove that pickguard... it just seems way off for the rest of the colors. A white guard could be very tasty IMO

I'm a 73 year old geezer, started playing when I was 15 due to the Beatles (but I don't hold that against them....). Been depressed most of my life like OP. Guitar helped thru high school... quit when I was 27... unsure why... maybe not getting any better, could have used a new amp...

In 1998 I was out on stress disability.... had an old git in basement, took it out and what da ya know.... only thing that didn't seem to hurt my brain.

I have gotten better since picking up guitar again, but that is not a primary objective. I consider guitar first and foremost therapy for me. In spite of buying lots of gits etc, I still reckon cheaper than going to a shrink & just as effective. And I'm sticking to that!

They came stock in a Cort (yes, Cort...) Sunset 1. Cort's take on the discontinued Gretsch spectrasonic (more or less same, but much better looking imo. A brilliant guitar, nothing to upgrade (well, maybe pots, but I never checked that). Tonepros roller bridge, Bigsby, semi hollow, tusq nut, yada yada. Looks great, love it, sound somewhere twixt a Gretsch and a Ric.

I hunted all over for this, found it at NW Guitars (NW England? Didn't know). I live in Thailand & tried to visit US once a year... called them up, paid for it unplayed (also for only $599). That guitar in demo is my guitar. I checked serial numbers in a different video, Ha! They do pop up on Reverb sometimes...

Looks like fun to me. Is that a real F hole, or is it painted on?

I've got one, have used for several years here in Thailand. Some of the paint has come off, the hinge pin came out a tad, but nothing I couldn't live with.. I like being able to clip on headstock. I play at the beach so that feature lets me lay it on gig bag without having to think about scratching the headstock. Never put a pick in that little holder. I also have Shubbs & they're great too.

I was strongly considering one of those Vintage thinlines... how you like it?

May be a bit of a stretch, but I would hazard that previous owner changed pickups because he/she wasn't happy with stock pickups. But been here long enough to know some people like to change things just for the sake of change...

I have an Ibanez AS 95 (I think the S, the other sort of cutaway). Yours from nice era like mine with the lovely inlays, matching pickguard and that cool tailpiece. Very well made guitar. Wooden saddle... mine came with TOM on wooden base.

If you didn't want to pin the bridge, could always get in right place and put a few small Sharpie dots to mark.

If I could suggest an upgrade, it would be to get a pair of StewMac golden age humbuckers. Cost me about $100 for the pair shipped few years back. Made huge difference in sound. I cannot urge you more strongly to try this. Friend with ES335 said he liked my modded Ibanez tone more than his Gibby. And he is not a flatterer.

Seems like rockabilly only thing that would work. To do quick and lazy latency test, using Skype call friend far away. You start counting and then have friend join in. I'd like to do intercontinental jam, but count difference is around 1 1/2....

I'd say Yamahas are under rated. I got AC3R 1 1/2 years ago. ABC'd against Taylor and Martin same price range. Pretty even on Martin un amped, but preamp on AC much much better (though a bit low on output). Also came with outstanding case and even feedback buster, and far better looking: not at all cutrate. Pretty good for $765 (thank you GC for giving 15% off & gave 2 sets Elixir without even asking). Quite far away from $1500 too. Wonderful sound and getting better.

I am pretty sure they don't want to hear my music. If they do, perhaps a little therapy may be in order....

Jimi was a genius. When he was on, it was like he was a pipeline to the cosmos. He didn't "play" guitar.... it flowed through him.

I was lucky enough to see him three times. One time he was God. Not a bad batting average.

I think many believe Jimi was on drugs all the time, but I don't. It was no doubt hard to resist. EVERYONE wanted to be able to brag "I got high with Hendrix".

Those were different times.
