so, i got to try out a pathfinder today. the hype is justified. i tried out the 10 cuz they didnt have the 15r. so on the clean channel, it was pretty good. warm, full sounding. then i turned up the gain and it was all FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ with the gain turned up all the way it was this super sweet thick fuzz. very cool. it was useful and good too, not {censored}ty and ice picky. so basically, it was $74 new, so if i cant find the 15r, i might just pick the 10 up.

thanks for the advice guys~! What Ken said - start with a 2:1 ratio, and don't slam it hard - and don't use too short of a release time. Adjust to taste. okay, im in no way a competent engineer. haha. i record my own stuff on a Roland BR1180 usually, but i dont have it anymore, so now im using Audacity on a windows machine with an M-Audio Fast Track USB interface. best setup? no. but its cool for demoing. anyway, im recording vocals over a song io wrote. now, im not even using a condenser, im using an Audix OM2 dynamic. its all ive got!! but anyway, whats a good ratio for vocal compression? any magic tips to make my vocals sound halfway decent and not dead? maybe a little reverb? thanks!

i think pbone missuses his comprssor. he has the {censored} all the way up and his sound is totally squashed. it kinda takes away from the dynamics and amazingness of the lonestar. he has it on all the time.
