  1. I would have to recommend you stay away from the Firestudio. If you can get it to work, it is great. But, there are lots of people with serious problems. Plus, there are still no 64-bit drivers, even though Presonus has them for their other interfaces. I had it for 2 weeks, and finally gave up and returned it. Thats good to know, i just figured it was an expanded/improved interface from the firepod, which i've heard a lot of good stuff about.
  2. Hey fellas, I'm looking to buy an interface for recording with a laptop. Right now I don't need anything uber-powerful, but would like enough inputs to record a couple different mics on a guitar amp, and in the future would like to be able to record a full band (drums and all), but right now it will mainly be guitar, bass, and vox. I'm looking in the $500-$800 range. I can't find many opinions on the MOTU 828mk3... I've read lots of threads that claim the inputs on the MOTU 828mk2 are very dark, and was wondering if those on the mk3 are better. Or i guess my other options are the Motu Traveler, 8Pre, or the Presonus firestudio. I'd like said interface to be able to do some light duty mixing in live situations i suppose, and onboard DSP is a plus. Suggestions? Thanks (as always.)
