I talked to Arend. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead with this. Doing a bit more research on other options. You know...I've always wanted a raw rock rig and the thought of getting a Tele is making me also really want grab a Ceriatone Hiwatt 504 clone.

Ok so someone tell me in simple terms what is the difference between a MIM, MIA and Highway One Tele? Which is the best and why?

I think it'll be good, but the only thing I'm worried about is noise. Then again, I won't be using the lead channel all THAT much.

Here's one I'd recommend. Put in a lil 59 or whatever tele sc sized HB in the bridge and a coil tap. Then you'll have Tele looks, a heavy sounding bridge pu as well as some in between Strat sounds.

I know I'm being a snob here, but I think I want a real Fender. Don't you think a MIM Tele for $499 would be better than a Squier anyways?

Thanks guys. I'm planning on playing in a new band with this...style is going to be experimental mixed with post-hardcore and some ambient elements. My EC-1000 has been my workhorse for a long time, but I don't think it can do exactly what I want for this band. I'll be using the 6505+'s rhythm and crunch channels a lot, and only really going to the lead channel for solo/lead work here and there. The sound I'm looking for is big and jangly with a good amount of grind when I need it. So that brings me to the next question...which model of Tele would be the best? There's a lot to choose from. I would like to keep it under $1000 if possible.

I've always wanted a Tele and I've been seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on one lately. I'm just wondering how they mesh with a 6505+. Will this cause a paradox and rip a hole in the space-time continuum?

The only metal I really like is Scandanavian style melodic death bands like Insomnium and old In Flames. I like them more for their strong sense of melody though. I like a couple djent musicians, but they get old quick unless they are really outstanding like Cloudkicker, for example. When I listen to music to enjoy it, I'm usually listening to something other than metal though.

Right. I've owned a 5150 4x12 slant that I ran over $10,000 worth of amps through over a span of around 7 years. The consensus that they suck is absolutely right IMO. In fact, that might be the single worst sounding piece of gear I've owned in my 11 years of playing.

This. The Sheffield 1200's (5150 cab stock speakers) are usually considered their best, and those are horrible. Peavey definitely does not make good sounding speakers IMO.

I like to lay the cab on it's back, crank the amp and have the GF squat over it. Then I play some tasty metal riffs and it drives her crazy. If you can imagine me headbanging in slow motion with one foot up on the edge of the cab and the guitar protruding from my crotch while a naked chick is writhing around on my cab...it's pretty much like a Motley Crue video. Sometimes I even tease her pooper with the headstock of my guitar during this process.

To the OP...haven't tried strobes, but that does sound like fun. I'm not sure what the neighbors will think when they see strobes in the window and a flashing silhouette of me riding the lady friend projected on the blinds though.

I have done it with a bunch of those flexible glow stick bracelet/necklace things all over both of us though like a bunch of rave kids. Looks pretty cool in the dark

Give me a break man. We did not illegally invade the country. They did not comply with inspections which is what set this off in the very beginning. He killed thousands upon thousands of innocent people. Whens the last time that Bush lobbed nerve gas at civilians in his own counrty?
