    SW1000XG.jpg

This new combined SW1000XG & DS2416 driver supports the Steinberg Audio Streaming Input Output system with a vastly reduced latency for VST users on the Windows & Mac platform. The driver will function with one or the other card in place, or both giving a total of 28 channels of independently controllable audio using the DSP's on the cards. With only one card present, the system offers options either for SW1000 or DS2416 playback & record. The ASIO driver also supports the SW1000XG's unique 'loopback' record mode which enables audio & midi data to be internally re-routed back to a stereo wave file.

Users wishing to install this new ASIO driver must first have installed and correctly set-up the version 2.0.0 mme driver also now available for download, as without this, the ASIO driver will fail to work.

As VST for Windows does not as yet support multiple instances of ASIO, users with other cards that support ASIO will not be able to use the combined SW/DS driver at the same time as any other cards in their system.Users with DS2416 cards should also bear in mind that if they have an SW1000XG card installed also, the word clock rules relating to cross-card bussing still apply.

To replace the older 1.12 or previous mme drivers with the new 2.0.0 drivers before installing the ASIO driver, just copy the VXD and DLL files (vswxgdsp.vxd and ymhxgdsp.dll) into your windows-system folder in safe mode or dos mode, then reboot. You can also use the update driver or replace driver method from withim windows, but please check that the current drivers are installed in your machine by checking the version number in the Yamaha VXD/Properties box (right mouse click on the vswxgdsp.vxd and select properties). Download the Version 2.0.0 updated MME driver and ASIO Driver from www.xgfactory.com. The new ASIO & OMS Driver for Mac are available there as well (but Yosemite G3 drivers are still being tested at this time.)
