WAVES LTD. announced a partnership with Yamaha Corporation of America, an established leader in digital audio, with the development of the Y56K add-on DSP cards for the Yamaha AW4416 Professional Audio Workstation. The cards will be loaded with six (6) of Waves proprietary audio processors, including the acclaimed L1-Ultramaximizer, Renaissance EQ, Renaissance Compressor, TrueVerb, SuperTap 2-tap, and DeEsser.

The Y56K cards are designed to plug into one or both of the 2 expansion slots on the back of the AW4416, giving the user flexibility of assigning any of the Waves processors for up to 8 processing chains. Each card has 2 (two) 100MHz Motorola 56k-series DSPs providing considerable raw power for the Waves processors. An additional benefit to the user is the inclusion of ADAT Lightpipe input/output on each Waves card. Full automation through the console is supported.
