Following the success of its original PowerStation powered mixer, Spirit By Soundcraft is launching a new PowerStation range to accommodate everything from basement bands to medium-sized nightclubs.

The new range features three models: the PowerStation 350, which combines a 2 x 175-watt (into 4 ohms) amplifier with six mono mic/line and two stereo inputs; PowerStation 600, with a 2 x 300-watt amplifier and two additional mic/line inputs; and top-of-the-line PowerStation 1200, which boasts a 2 x 600-watt amplifier and 16 mic/line inputs for larger bands and venues.

Comments from users of the original PowerStation have lead to a number of new enhancements. First, there is an all-new, specially-designed Lexicon effects unit with dual-effect capability (including Chorus and Reverb, Chorus and Delay, and Reverb and Delay) and fully-editable/storable programs and parameters. Other improvements include an additional dedicated auxiliary send for the Lexicon effects (bringing the auxiliary count up to three), a new, steep 18dB-per-octave High-Pass filter and the addition of the high-performance UltraMic padless preamp. Amplifiers have been specially developed for the new series after undergoing a year of vigorous field testing around the world. Of course, all of PowerStation's classic features have been retained, such as the integral patchbay, 2 x 7-band graphic equalizer and 40 Hz subsonic filter for speaker protection.

Scheduled to ship by the end of November, tentative U.S. pricing on the PowerStation family is as follows: PowerStation 350 - $1,099.95; PowerStation 600 - $1,499.95; and PowerStation 1200 - $1,999.95.

    Additional specifications:

    • Three-band EQ with sweepable mid on all mono inputs
    • Two stereo inputs with three-band EQ and level control 9 Maximum 14, 16 or 24 inputs to mix including two-track return (PowerStation 350, 600 and 1200, respectively)
