TC Electronic is showing the new Finalizer Express-Studio Mastering Processor, a cost effective and easy to use version of the world studio standard Finalizer Plus, according to Ed Simeone, Managing Director of U.S. Operations. The Finalizer Express began shipping in August, supplementing the Finalizer Plus in TC's product line.

"The Finalizer Express represents a significantly faster and easier to use set of features in comparison to the more advanced Finalizer Plus" said Simeone. "Now there's an affordable mastering solution for every studio, musician and hobbyist - one that can give them the professional results they have been looking for."

The Finalizer Express features 24 bit resolution Analog to Digital and Digital to Analog Converters, with a complete set of multi-band dynamics processing tools via a simple to use WYSIWYG hardware user interface. AES/EBU, SPDIF, TOS link Optical, MIDI and Analog I/Os are all provided as well as an input for TC's optional Master Fader digital fader. Multiple simultaneous digital outputs can be used and the unit will sync to external digital clock via it's AES/EBU or S/PDIF connectors. Additional features include auto makeup gain, LED metering, soft limiting, look ahead delay, MIDI controllable fader, PCMCIA card slot, 16 and 20 bit dithering and spectral balance controls.

The Finalizer Express is an intuitive mastering toolbox in a single rack space module providing the ability to do the kinds of finishing touches to a mix that would only normally be available through a high end professional mastering facility.

Retail price of the Finalizer Express is $1599.
