Ibanez Unveils New Tubescreamer Pedal
By Guest |
The new TS9DX Turbo Tubescreamer made its first appearance at the 1998 Nashville NAMM Show. "Because our 'reissue' TS9 was made by the same people, with the same materials and same circuitry, it was completely accepted by even the most tonally demanding players," said John Lomas of Ibanez USA who helped design the new pedal. "The challenge was to make a pedal that could also go a few notches heavier while maintaining the TS9 tonal integrity. That meant no sound compromising digital sound circuitry or programmability. Well, it took a couple of years, but the TS9DX is true to the original TS9 vision and tone. It can just crunch a whole lot more when you want it to."
The new TS9DX features four different mode settings that run from "subtle overdrive to bludgeoning low end": (1) Original TS9 (2) "+" (3) "Hot" and (4) "Turbo" as well as Drive, Tone, and Level controls.
