  • Finale Allegro 98 for Windows Released

    By Guest |

Minneapolis, MN, November 4, 1998: Windows and Macintosh users will find Coda Music Technology's new Allegro 98 one of the most significant music software upgrades of the decade. This newest version of Allegro, a pared down version of the world's best selling music notation software, Finale, offers a simple yet professional alternative to other mid-level notation products such as Encore or Overture, with more power and flexibility.

According to Ron Raup, President and COO of the Minneapolis-based company, "No other notation product provides more power for less money. Allegro 98 is a great value with all the MIDI and notation tools most people need at a lower price than any of it's competitors."

After five years of programming, Allegro 98's new features are as numerous as they are significant. One powerful example is Allegro's new Encore (3.0 and higher) and Rhapsody file converter that allows users of those products to import their files without losing important file information.

Allegro 98 is easier to learn and more effortless to use with it's new QuickStart Interface, allowing users to immediately start entering notes and creating music, and On-line Videos that show users right on the screen how to create great looking scores. Easier text entry, smarter slurs, improved quantization, simpler chord symbol entry, true multi-track real-time notation, multiple undo and on-line documentation are just a few of Allegro 98's enormous list of improvements.

With an estimated street price of $159, Allegro 98 is the most affordable, full featured notation product on the market. The regular upgrade price for registered users of Allegro 1.0 or MusicProse is $69.95, but orders received by December 11, 1998 will qualify for a special price of $49.95, a savings of over 25%. And, for a limited time, owners of Encore or Rhapsody can trade in their old program and receive a special upgrade price of $69.95.

Allegro 98 for Windows 95/98/NT and Allegro 98 for Macintosh/Power Macintosh are both now available.
