Ampeg announced that the Gene Simmons "Punisher Rig"' signature amp will be introduced at the winter NAMM show in Los Angeles on January 31, 1998.

Simmons, bassist and co-founder of Kiss, has been a long-time user and endorser of Ampeg bass amps and co-designed the new Ampeg Punisher Rig.

The Punisher Rig consists of a 350 watt head with three bands of EQ, ultra mid tone circuit, defeatable optocoupler limiter, nine band graphic EQ, effects loop, pre/post EQ, XLR line out, line out level select, preamp out/power amp in, variable speed fan and a cabinet boasting two JBL 15" speakers.

The Punisher Rig sports a unique custom "metallic" look and is adorned with both Ampeg logos and Gene Simmons' signature. The amplifier is available for a limited time as a head and cabinet system only. Amplifiers will begin shipping in January, 1998 and are available through authorized Ampeg retailers.
