April 7, 2014 – GHS Strings is proud to announce the latest edition to their family of strings, the GHS Crossovers. Designed specifically to fit the NS Design CR and NXT series of Electric Upright basses, GHS Crossovers bring a new depth of sound and tone to an inspiring instrument.

“The string options for the NS Design upright bass are limited,” explains GHS Product Specialist, Jon Moody, “You have two sets that are designed to fit the bass perfectly. While you have the option of using a traditional upright bass string set on the NS, the cost of those becomes prohibitive to many crossover players.”

Designed with the help of players as well as the staff at Gollihur Music (known worldwide as “Your Upright Bass Information Destination”), Nickel-Iron Alloy 52 is wound over a round core wire and then micro-ground for a smooth, upright bass feel. This yields a string with a deep and focused fundamental tone with a high end that is clear and smooth, suitable for those needing both contemporary and traditional sounds.
