  • Korg Adds MIDI Control to Top-Selling iMS-20 App For iPad®

    By Guest |

Korg’s top-selling iMS-20 app for iPad has just been enhanced. Version 1.1 adds MIDI control capabilities by using the Apple Core MIDI features found in iOS 4.2, via the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit. Users can now play the MS-20 Synth and tweak the onscreen knobs(*1) using external MIDI devices(*2). Users who also own an MS-20 Controller (bundled with the original Korg Legacy Collection software) can use it for patching cables. The six-part Drum Machine can receive different MIDI notes per part.

iMS-20 is a complete music production app for iPad, consisting of a faithful recreation of the legendary Korg MS-20 analog synthesizer with patching capabilities, a 16-step analog sequencer based on Korg's SQ-10, a six-part drum machine with dedicated pads, a seven-channel mixer with 14 types of effects and Korg's Kaoss Pad technology. Users can share their songs online via the SoundCloud network.

The Korg iMS-20 for iPad is available for download purchase from Apple’s App Store (inside the iTunes Store) for a special introductory price of $15.99 (USD) until January 31, 2011, after which point the app will be available for the regular price of $32.99. Current owners can update to Version 1.1 for free. For more information, including a full list of iMS-20 specifications, please visit www.korg.com/ims20.
