Earthworks, Inc. announces the re-introduction of the Z30X cardioid microphone. Earthworks has redesigned the inner structure of the tip to make it more sturdy. The Z30X has a more traditional cardioid pick up pattern than Earthworks' more enhanced version, the Z30XL, although the front half is wider and much less colored than most directional mics.

Flat from 30Hz to 30kHz at 6 inches, the Z30X has a neutral, natural on axis sound and is flatter at 90 degrees than most mics are on axis. While sound quality across the entire front half is very uniform, the off axis rejection is very thorough and uncolored.

The Z30X is a great microphone for many studio applications, as well as for highend sound reinforcement because of its natural, uncolored sound and clean separation. It is also particularly useful for broadcast and production voice applications.

Earthworks, founded by David Blackmer, original founder of dbx Professional, was formed with the goal of providing affordable tools for capturing and reproducing sound with the experience of "being there". Earthworks currently manufactures a variety of professional microphones and preamps for recording, amplification and measurement applications.
