El Segundo, Calif. (July 9, 2015) – MXL Microphones announces its new DRUM PA-5K dynamic drum mic kit. The three-piece kit includes two of the new A-5t Tom Microphones, and the MXL mainstay A-55 Kicker.

“We have had a lot of requests from live and studio drummers for an updated drum mic kit, so we went through and took all the feedback, needs, and current technology into consideration while developing the new DRUM PA-5K drum mic kit,” says MXL Global Sales Manager Scott Krueckeberg. “The new A-5t dynamic tom mics are engineered from top to bottom specifically for toms and percussion, including the components such as the mounting clips. As far as mic kits go, the DRUM PA-5K is designed to deliver quality and reliability under demanding recording and live performance applications.”

The A-5t is a high SPL cardioid mic with excellent ambient rejection. The A-5t has a warmth and punch that complements toms and captures distinct notes for a clear, articulated sound. The A-5t has a durable all-metal body and an adjustable, pivoting rim mount. The DRUM- PA-5K includes two A-5t mics.

The A-55 Kicker delivers the deep, low-end punch of kick drums as well as bass cabinets, congas and all other low frequency instruments. The A-55 Kicker has a clean pickup for fast attacks. It includes a built-in mic clip. All mics in the DRUM PA-5K are made of metal to withstand touring and repeated, demanding use.

MXL will exhibit the DRUM PA-5K at Summer NAMM booth 624. The kit will be available for purchase in July for $199.95.
