  • Wroclaw Audio Force Debuts Orfeusz206 Live Sound Surround Effect Processor

    By Guest |

WAF (Wroclaw Audio Force) presented its new Orfeusz206 surround effect processor for live shows at the 121st AES Convention in San Francisco.

Orfeusz206 is a 1U rack-mount device providing accurate control of sound source positioning and movement over 4, 5 or 6 loudspeakers in a free configuration.

Delivered with its companion software running under Windows, Orfeusz206 emulates any user-defined acoustic atmosphere and allows for real-time, joystick-controlled displacement of 2 independent sources. Automated trajectories are available at fingertip, and built-in traditional effects such as EQ, flanger, vibrato and chorus can moreover be coupled to source movement in order to achieve unprecedented trajectory-mapped effects.

Since the advent of surround sound in movie and home theaters, the idea of a moving and engulfing sound has been gaining ground but has yet to reach its full potential in live performance venues and dance clubs. Orfeusz206 is designed for sound technicians and DJs wanting to push these limits of audio experience.
