  • New PB28 Patch Bay System from Aviom

    By Guest |

Aviom has announced the PB28 Patch Bay System at AES 2005. The PB28 Patch Bay System is a universal modular patching system that allows the user to configure custom patch panels in groups of eight channels. Up to two PB28 Series modules can be installed per PB28 Patch Panel. The flexible PB28 Patch Bay System works with any audio or networking products, regardless of manufacturer.

The PB28 Patch Panel is a blank, 1U-high unit that accepts up to two eight-channel modules. Patch panels can be user-configured using only a screwdriver. A variety of PB28 Series audio and network connectivity modules including DB25, male and female XLR, and EtherCon RJ45 connectors are available.

The 28-DB-XF is an eight-channel module fitted with a rear-panel DB25 multipin connector and eight female XLR connectors on the front panel. The eight-channel 28-DB-XM module features a rear-panel DB25 multipin connector and eight male XLR connectors on the front panel. The DB25 connectors on both modules use the industry-standard Tascam audio wiring pinout.

The 28-EC is an eight-channel EtherCon RJ45 module featuring Neutrik EtherCon connectors on both sides. It allows Cat-5 network connections from multiple devices to be brought to a convenient central location in any patch bay. The EtherCon connectors accept standard Cat-5 network RJ45 connectors as well as those fitted with the XLR-style EtherCon jack.

The eight-channel 28-XF-XM module is a reversible module outfitted with eight female XLR connectors on one side and eight male XLR connectors on the other. The user can mount either side facing forward in a PB28 Patch Panel.
