  • Yamaha P95 Digital Piano Combines Superior Sound And Portability

    By Guest |

The new model replaces the P85 and is perfect for pianists just starting out and for experienced players who want a lightweight, portable instrument with a small footprint that can be used with headphones. The P95 includes such stand-out features as the Yamaha GHS (Grand Hammer Standard) weighted action, Advanced Wave Memory stereo piano samples, larger speakers, 10 different Voices that are easily accessible via dedicated front panel buttons, and professional quality dual ¼" headphone outputs. "The P Series has been evolving for more than two decades," says Dane Madsen, marketing manager, Yamaha Digital Keyboards. "Building on the success of the best-selling P85, the P95 will continue to offer Yamaha touch and tone at a competitive price." The P95 features dedicated Voice buttons on the front panel, an optional matching-finish stand and a pedal frame with 3 piano-style pedals. It also includes four types of reverb, a chorus effect, MIDI connectivity and 50 built-in songs of standard piano repertoire - either for educational purposes, or simply for listening enjoyment. The one-track onboard song recorder, which archives ideas and serves as a performance evaluation tool, is quick and simple to operate. "When developing this product, the most important thing was that we kept all the features that made the P85 so successful." says Madsen. "But to take the P95 up a notch, we have included a versatile new Jazz Organ Voice and a beautiful new Choir Voice, which is great on its own or for layering with other Voices. We also managed to boost the output level from the built-in speakers." The P95B in black and the P95S in silver (MSRP: $899) are expected to ship in June 2010.
