  • Sound Libraries For Stage Keyboards

    By Guest |

There are several new piano samples for the Nord Stage family in development which will be released during the course of 2008. One example is a great sounding grand that were previewed at the Frankfurt Musikmesse. This grand were recently recorded using both custom made and state of the art technology.

These new grand's will be available in various versions, to provide Nord Stage users with a wider range of sound possibilities. The recordings are made with an elaborate set of different microphones and some very careful microphone positioning. The microphones used have been selected from matched stereo pairs of several well known, high end manufacturers.

By recording the samples from several positions at the same time gives us the unique opportunity to offer these individual piano sounds in several perspectives. These were all recorded not only at the same session, but at the same time as well — close up, farther away, wider stereo etc. A particular grand piano will sound quite different due to the positioning of the microphones involved during the recording process, and Clavia will give the users the choice of their preferred sound.

Another example of the upcoming additions to the Stage sound library is a Clavia first — an Italian harpsichord that has been recorded at the Swedish Radio's state of the art studios. More of these wonderful instruments will appear in a Nord Stage near you later this year — there is a Flemish and also a French harpsichord in the development pipeline. A preview of these new sounds will be available at the Clavia website shortly.
